Take care Jan . ;D Oh - I have stripped both Lada gearboxes which have been rebuilt by professionals. I know that sounds crazy, but I will explain later..... Danie

Danie that speedo drive on the box in front are you going to use it, or do you maybe have a extra one? What Fiat box is that exactly? I think you know what I have in mind...

Hi Charles
You might not believe me, but I have discovered that speedo drive inside my Lada's original gearbox !
The gearbox which can be seen at the back is my spare gearbox - the Fiat (125) Gearbox housing has been used, but all inner parts came from a Lada gearbox. I still have the Fiat's Speedo Drive in my possession - it looks completely different.

Danie are you going to use the speedo drive and drve gear or are you willing to sell it?

I am worried that the speedo drive might work the oil away from the bearing at the rear, so I am not going to use it.
If you are going to use the speedo drive yourself, you can have it free of charge - excluding the postage fee .

I'm having some Shiraz. ;D The air-con guy just finished installing a new compressor unit and did a full service and all. Hell, and he is off to another client!!! He almost seem to work 24/7. Well, a R2100 later...money I would have rather spent on Kursk. I'm going to go play Jan's Lada song and have another wine until I feel better. ;D

Would love to visit SA sometime, but i'm affraid my budget is to small Jan, just get yourself here! Apart from the airplane ticket me thinks everything else is cheaper here. I might even be able to get my boss to brew a Weissbeer (spelling?) or a brew of your choice. ;D

Right now, i'm doing nothing at all besides waiting for dinner to be served and trying to spam this forum
fixed a niva today with a terrible vibration with difflock engaged. Turned out there where two different gear reatio's in de diffs. 10/43 (very old 1600 4 gear) in the front and 10/41 in the rear (1600 5 gear). It was a 17i (normal diff ratio is 11/43)

The last couple of years the Belgian Niva friends forum is so succesfull thta i've been negelecting the mother site a bit. Till the beginning of this year i started to build a new one. I wanted the same look and feel as the forum was. Never go to it to finnish it And last summer i upgraded the forum and changed the layout and back ground colors. So the site was hopelessly out of date once more. A few weeks back i started to build a new one again and i plan to finish it this time. Some pages are already on-line. Enjoy www.ladanivabelgium.be under heavy construction

it's not intended for my niva, it's a garage to work in. We moved last year to an other house and here is only an half open carport. That was pretty cold last winter to work in. The new garage will be an extention to the carport so i have more room. Last winter, Christmas morning, i was changing my rear diff flat on my back in the snow because an other niva was taking up al the space in the carport. Don't want to do that any more
