After looking at the spare parts suppliers listed on the Forum, I really think we should remove all reference to Lada centurion from our list. This company should have no right to free advertising by LOCSA. What is the Members view ?.

Removed.
Sorry if I do overstep my boundries, but I seem to have made a mistake by adding that name to the list of Suppliers.

Hi guys and gals
I know everyone on this forum is real upset about the way he runs his business and I completely understand. However I don't think that "banning" him or any other member would actually serve a purpose.
I would rather leave his details and just add something like "Not recommended by LOCSA" or something to that effect.
Regards Marius

Hi Marius
Just been thinking as I pressed the send button, what has he ever done to deserve a mention as a supplier or repair specialist. As far as I am concerned it is an insult to all the people he has ripped off and continues to rip off, to even mention him.

Hi Marius
To my mind there is too much uncertainty in this regard, and as far as I know this Supplier has not re registered as a member of the new Locsa.
I am concerned about new Lada owners who do visit this website, but do not read all posts at this forum. It is quite clear to me that they do not know about all the local pitfalls out there, and this could cost them a small fortune. I think we do have an obligation to protect them as far as possible.
I think it does indeed serve a very good purpose - if we do exclude names of individuals, or Businesses of which services we are not sure about.
I am not a legal expert, but I think we need to be very careful about a comment like "not recommended by Locsa" . By using the name "Locsa' in this regard, every single member of Locsa - even members who never had any problems with this Supplier before, might get entangled in unnecessary legal battles in future.
Bear in mind that all members who do pass comments at this website, are legally liable for their own comments, as individuals.

Hi Danie
Any member who posts any negative comments should do the same as me and make sure you have proof of your statements. I take photos of all my 'Gripes" and I have a copy of all the parts he CLAIMS to replace in his sales advert. He cannot dispute the facts if you keep records.

Just a final word from my side:
Since 1 April it is a criminal offense by any Service Provider / Supplier in this country to simply replace parts left, right, and center without giving the owner a written quote, which have been approved by the owner by signing the quote.
I know that I have probably jumped the gun by removing the name without approval by the "consensus rule", but as initiator of the post where the names of all Suppliers has been revealed, I decided to remove the name of the Supplier, because he now seem to have no respect for the new Act, and the legal rights of the Lada owners of this country.
Should the "majority rule" dictates that the name should be listed again, please feel free do whatever needs to be done.

I recon Lada Centurion (LC) should not be listed. If we put it up with a disclaimer it might be said that LOCSA is badmouthing it. However, if someone asks why LC is not on it can be answered in a personal capacity.
Either way, I do not support LC as my Lada ended in the grave with her previous owner because of a fall out between the two parties over service (or the lack thereof) and charges for it.

Hi Danie and all
I hear what you say and it is probably the safer route to take.
I also do not want to take this issue too far as it does not deserve much discussion. I do however feel that LOCSA has a right to either "recommend" or "not to recommend" and to my mind it is not slanderous to do so at all.
By the way the particular wording was just a suggestion. One could also say something like "due to recent complaints from our members LOCSA can not recommend this particular bla bla bla".
We do have enough evidence not to recommend him - though getting a complainant to give evidence in court could prove to be another matter entirely.
Removing his name could also have the effect that unsuspecting member/owner might "discover" his workshop by chance and falling into this very same trap that we would like our members to avoid.
Anyway it would be wise to get some legal advice on this matter.
EDIT>> I forgot to add I will go with the flow and it would seem that for now most would like to see his name removed - then so be it.
If that is the case this rule will have to apply to every single one of our suppliers that mess up in future.
Regards Marius

Hi all It is all fine to remove LC as a supplier on the list BUT just a few conversations down from the List as posted by Danie, mention is made that it is "good to know they are still supplying rebuilt Ladas" I agree with Marius on differentiating. Why not state: "Recommended by LOCSA as a supplier/agent" for the rest of the known suppliers and agents? Regards Spikes

Hi Marius
I would also go with a recommended / not recommended. I just want time to think and not make a rash decision. I also want to give time for the members to have their say.

If we really want to keep out of the dwang, just add a note to say that the suppliers listed has been used successfully by various members of LOCSA regards all Spikes

Hi Ronnie
I think that is also part of my point - that we should not make rash decisions. Take all the time you want ;D
I just think that by just removing his name is not going to solve the problem.

Hi All Suggestion: What about a "Star rating" next to each supplier. 5star for highly recommended and no star for..., well, stay away. As service comments come in, the dregs will filter to the bottom of the barrel. We, and the Lada user at large, will soon see who the top guys are, not that we don't already know. Just a thought! Des

Hi Spikes
For what it's worth - I have removed my comment " Good to know that they sell Ladas which have been rebuilt "
Obviously too late now, because the comment will still appear at the "quotes" above.
At the time of my comment I was not fully aware of all the complaints as far as service / after service is concerned, and I was still hoping to get him involved at this Forum.
At the beginning of the new Forum I desperately tried everything I could think of to make this Forum work.
Some of the things I tried has obviously been "less intelligent".
