I see Microsoft has made Internet Explorer 10 available as an update to IE8 &9 on Windows & platforms. I found it (IE10) quite fast while testing Win 8 during the evaluation period.

Update was quick and painless although I now need to sit and remember all my saved user names and passwords as the transfer of the settings that you would expect to take place did not.
Things like my favourites and browsing history all came across ok.

The few that my wife stored on her PC in IE came across but I had the 'auto complete' settings including passwords, selected on her PC.

Hi Marius
I was in the spares shop yesterday and checked the prices of grease here. General purpose grease £5.60, copper grease £8.29, and rubber grease £12 50 all 500ml tubs. How does that compare with SA ?. I know we discussed the price of rubber grease in a post but can`t remember which one.

Hi Spikes
Thanks, the only reason I posted was I was in the spares shop and remembered Marius speaking about the price. It looks as if it is expensive here as well. Mind you a 500mls tub will last you for years.

I think it was about 8-10 years ago when I bought my tub of red rubber grease and at the time it was a pricey R65 compared to other types of greases for less than half the price. Today you are looking at R160+.

and as we go along: also new front brake pads and calliper overhaull The caliper overhaul interests me. Here local garages will not do a caliper overhaul. Ditto for the rear brake cylinders where fitted. Yet the seals and parts are available. Come the time our NIVA starts leaking brake fluid or clutch fluid, the replacement seals are lying in by spares cupboard Looking forward to your "how to" Spikes

Thanks Steve! I see that it comes with its own English version. Will you move it to brakes eventually?

i found the problem my folder on PB was called 'revisie ophanging voor'. Seems that the board changes that in 'revisie%ophanging%voor', so the blanks are changed into %. That way the link is not correct. Anyway, here's the special grease i use for lubricating the calliper seals: been replacing this and that on my Niva the last few days: better this way ;D

Jan, be warned, a member of this forum is probably heading to Belguim in the next 2 months on a business trip. You may want to pack up all your spare parts and tools while he is there.
Serioulsy though, he would like to meet up with you when he is there.

Chris has a supply of used medical implants and tools that you may want to trade for Niva parts, these include metal balls and silicon implants, both male and female.
I am sure he will provide more info.
