Hi Hercules I think too much hot sun, sweat, and running around in general took it's toll on me......... Getting ready for a regular walk with the little ones: Having fun at Irene farm near Pretoria: Having a break at Irene farm, near Pretoria: Anyway, getting flu and a bad cold are all part of having a great time with the little ones . Regards Danie

Hi all Back home on the farm after spending Xmas eve and Xmas day with my family. A bit more traffic than I expected - esp on the way back. Most people behaved but I encountered the usual couple of fools on the road. On one occasion I had to brake hard to avoid a head-on and the other one was a nice looking Toyota Cruiser with 2 spare wheels on the back nearly pushing me off the road when overtaking me. The fool probably took on a Lada in an off-road challenge and came off second best ;D The Niva behaved very nicely during the trip and brought us back home safely. I did grease the Ujoints that made the trip nice and smooth - for a Niva Hope everyone had a great Xmas. Regards Marius

Hi Marius
There are plenty fools on the roads that is why there is so many accidents. The full blame for this is the traffic departments who do nothing except sit at a camera. Every other road offense goes unnoticed.

Hi Ronnie You're very right in saying that - not much of a presence on the roads we travelled I prefer to stay well clear of the roads during holiday seasons - it is just crazy what chances people take. Much better to relax and have a nice braai or something at home Regards Marius

Hi Marius If you can stay at home at this time it is the best thing to do. With always being able to take Holidays at any time we always traveled when the roads had the normal amount of traffic. I watch them in Pennington going through blind stop streets at 60 kmh and then if they hit someone it will still be the other persons fault Ronnie

Hi Marius Thanks, I hope you enjoyed the break as well. Our garden now looks like the jungle and I need to act as garden boy before I can start working on the Lada. In the meanwhile our little granddaughter is visiting us for this week, so I do have some responsibilities in this regard as well . Regards Danie

Hi Charles We mentioned on some thread somewhere the rev counter on a dwell meter and I said it did not work on the Niva set-up. I was talking rubbish as I have just noticed the reading on mine is 8 cylinder reading times two . It does work but the reading is difficult if you are looking for a small difference in the reading. The scale is useless for this. Ronnie
