Hi Danie I can understand you slowing down after a year of the grindstone but I hope the likes of Marius does not slow down Hi Ronnie Within three days I will be playing with my grandchildren, and I am really looking forward to spend some quality time with the family. I am sure Marius is well aware of the secrets of goat farming - if you are thinking of having a peaceful festive season by having the goats on your side of the fence, you just chase them to your nabour's farm . Goats always find them self on the wrong side of the fence - so they will come back to you and you don't have to run around all the time looking for them. ;D Danie

Hi Ronnie
What glue did you use to glue your carpets in? I got a roll of underfelt for free and will buy my vinyl and carpet in jan when the place reopens.

Hi Charles
I don`t know how thick your under felt is but I put in 2 layers. When you glue the carpet and under felt in you will find you do not need to let it dry, just glue and stick. Make sure you remove all the sill kick plates and the plastic trim at the rear door. If you put the carpet under them you will not need any glue as the trim will hold it. In the back try to have the carpet up behind the side panels (the ones you are going to make) UNGLUED so if you need to get to the petrol tank at any time you can do so with no damage to the carpet.

Hi Ronnie
I decided today I am going to try and repair my panels with fiberglass. That is the passenger kick panel and rear right side panel.
Do you think I should bolt my seat frames to floor under or over the carpet. It will just be 4 short pieces of square tubing.

Hi Charles Bolt them the way it makes taking them out easy. I hope you can come right with fibreglass as without a mould it is very difficult. You will lose nothing by trying Ronnie

PS: your Lada is still not running Hi Hercules Thanks for the good wishes - best wishes to you and your family as well. Well, my initial plans were to spend this holiday at home and try to get the Lada up and running again. My daughter and her family were suppose to visit us during this period, but she got herself a new job and she can't get leave now. So I've been brainwashed in the meanwhile, and will only be able to start working on the Lada after December, 27......... Regards Danie.............

Hi all
Blue skies after some heavy rain - the veld looks like the rice paddies in those Vietnam war movies.
I must say - after years of neglect and overgrazing the veld is recovering nicely. After removing the "hunting" dogs the small animals are also starting to recover.

Yes esp early in the morning and late afternoons - lot's of ground squirels, meerkat and rabbits, and being very close to a wetland the bird life is in abundance.
The larger animals normally roam at night.
BUT you have little to complain about in Jeffreys - esp this time of the year when bird life increases dramatically ;D
Thanks for the tip on the fanbelt - it is working like a charm!
Happy surfing! Marius

Hi Marius
Are there any Smallholdings near you and if so what kind of prices are they?, and how safe is the area. Roughly how far are you from Potch.

Hi Marius
I'm glad the tip helped. Yes Jeffreys is beautiful just very crowded this time of year. Drives me mad sometimes. Other times of the year it takes me just over 16min to get home from work. Wednesday it took me almost 35min. Still one of the best places in the country though.

Hi Charles/Ronnie
I never went near Cape Town during the holidays.
Ronnie I have no idea prices for smallholdings in the area - but I would guess around 1mil and up wards. Farmers in North West have been targeted esp in the Brits area. It is quite far from here though - but I would say the province is probably the most corrupt.
Since Terreblanche's murder their has been a few incidents.
We are about 50kms from Potch and about a 100 from Rustenburg.
Regards Marius
