Thank you all.
I think I first have to get a Lada. In future I would really like to get more involved with LOCSA.

Hi all
I have been very quite on this subject lately (farming is hard work ;D) but I think it is time for me (and everybody else) to get LOCSA's Constitution off the ground.
I have been working on a draft - but it came to a grinding halt with the lambing season and I have been very busy ever since. ALL members are welcome to make any suggestions in this regard.
Lets try for a final Constitution early in the new year.
Kind regards Marius van Rensburg LOCSA Chairperson

Hi Marius
I think like me you are an amateur at this type of thing. I am sure I mentioned to you some time ago the easiest way is to study the Constitutions of the various 4x4 clubs to get a idea of what is required. One item must be " this club is dedicated to the Lada Nivas wellbeing and to further it`s future in South Africa". or words to this effect.

Hi Ronnie Sorry I forgot to mention that I did look at various other 4x4 etc Constitutions and also looked into the advice given earlier. The whole thing just died down a bit Yes I do think that the BASIS of LOCSA's Constitution should be that member's conduct should at all times be in the interest of a prosperous future and well being of the Lada Niva in South Africa. Regards Marius

Hi Marius
Any possibility of getting hold of written constitutions from other 4 x 4 clubs - and supplying a copy to each member of the Management structure ?
It would be great if the Management structure could have a proper look at constitutions from other clubs, discuss all possibilities between themselves, and then submit a proposal to our members at this forum.
Maybe Ari could also get hold of their canoe club constitution - it could be very helpful as well.

Hi Danie
Most of the 4x4 clubs you can view their constitution on their web site. I know Marius and I have both looked at them.

Hi Marius and team, The LOCSA constitution may prove tricky as the Aims are mixed between an online forum (where most of the present action takes place) and real-life interaction between regionally located groups of members. For the online part all that is really required, is a set of guidelines regulating online behaviour. For a good example have look at the Land Rover online forum. The real live club would require a proper constitution which will have to be lodged with a bank of choice if and when the club starts running finances. Expamles are rive on the web as you have already seen. I would urge affiliationwith the All Wheel Drive Club of South Africa www.aawdc.org.zaThat is my pennies worth kind regards Spikes

Hi Spikes
To be affiliated to the AWDC we would need to have club fees and this I am sure would cut our membership to pieces. The fees are based on the number of members active or not.
