Ahem...and after 31 December 2011? Yes Danie - I have seen ALL those ego trips. However I feel that EVERYONE currently active on this forum (no matter how big or small the contributions) have ONE GOAL ;D As far as I am concerned - no need to PM - you and Ronnie are the obvious choice for Chair and Vice and looks like Darryn has just qualified himself for the vacant position Me - I like it just as it is

Freda likes the club the way it is - all friends and men who just love their Ladas. While we appreciate all that Danie does, the old saying applies - if its not broken why fix it. I love the way you men all go on about the wives' "other thing thing the relationship" just like a golf widow. But seriously I enjoy reading what you guys are doing. Ronnie may disagree with me, but I think its great the way it is. If any of you feel like paying us a visit in Pennington you will be more than welcome. Just the better half's point of view.

Thanks for the support Freda Seeing that we have a new life-line in Maritzburg - a visit to Pennington might well be on the cards Regards Marius

Hi All I must admit I also like it as it is . However it depends what we want out of the club. If we want to organize outings and get togethers, then we need a more formal structure for this. Unfortunately I am limited to what I can participate in due to finances. I will of course do everything I can to help in the running of the club. You can always bend my arm, as this club is very important to me. Also I have never been involved in the running of any club, so I have no idea of what is reqd. Affiliation to eg 4 x 4 club may give you access to destinations which we don't have at the moment, and cheaper than I can find. You would also have access to new radio frequencies which are other wise difficult to obtain licenses for. Looking forward to all your views Regards Ronnie

I thought these were some of the reasons why we were looking at this sort of thing.
After 31 dec 2011 Some one else has to take over as moderator Marius. Therefore as Danie says he doesn't want to do both so some one else needs to be nominated.

Hi All.
Unfortunately I has to agree with Danie that what happened in the past, we must guard against it.
I was not a member of the previous club and forum but my wife were as the Lada is Her Car. She did received from time to time an e-mail for some gatherings and we attend a couple of them. After that she refuse to attend because of the over ego know all attitude of some of the management structure and you know sweet blue all. She also never received her cloth badge that she ordered. Suddenly everything fall apart - the end of the club.
I was very interested that years already but was also involved in the Jeep Club of SA as I was driving a Jeep. I got involved in Locsa after receiving an e-mail that the new Locsa was running again.
I agree that there are capable and committed members on this forum that can serve on the board and steer this club to further heights in the future. Most of us never served on a club management board, but what the hack - we can try. It will only be the best for this club.
I vote for Ronnie as chairperson.
Regards.
Hercules

Hi All I already have a vice in the garage . It is amazing how people are able to talk and almost remain invisible. Danie would need to be Chairman so as to be able to train his team ;D The events organizer would be a perfect job for Ari ;D. There is also no way the likes of Marius, Daryn and Hercules are going to sit on the sidelines. Like the Government we must have Job`s for the boys . Regards Ronnie

Sounds like we need some more positions so no-one feels left out. This called job creation, maybe we should give the government some lessons.

Hi All
I think we all should just think long and hard about this issue - by Wednesday this week I will set up a Poll to find out whether the majority of Members would be happy with a more formal / official Management structure, or not.
The outcome of the Poll will obviously be respected.
Regards
Danie

Hi All
A Poll has been set up to make a decision regarding the feasibility of a more "formal" Management structure in future.
All Members, please feel free to cast your vote, even if you are a new Member.
This Thread has now been closed for discussion, and the Poll will be closed on Wednesday, 4 August 2010, at 7.00 PM.
The outcome of this Poll will be final, and will be respected.
Regards
Danie

Hi Folks The Poll has now been locked, and fortunately it is not a split result . Thanks to everyone who voted, and needless to say - I am delighted. ;D This thread will now be reopened for discussion, and a new Locsa Management Structure will be implemented - hopefully before or on Wednesday, next week. Before we nominate any members, I think we should just finalize the positions (Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Treasurer, etc.). Please feel free to air your views in this regard. Regards Danie

Hi All
Yip what a pity, although a lot of members do not frequent the forum regularly. Still I am sure I could guess who the 7 are.

Hi Spikes / Ari
To my mind there is no need to be concerned about the result of the Poll. Although I can't see what every member's decision has been, I am able to see all names of members who voted.
I am more than convinced that every single Member who voted, took this Website to heart, and are serious about the future of this Website.
Regards
Danie

Hi Danie/Ari Yes Danie, I do agree that the 7 that did vote has the forum's continued wellbeing at heart. The message that I read into the low votes is that the members at large (64 "ventzel" joined in on the 3rd)uses the website as an information clearing house and sharing Lada ideas with like minded people Regrads Spikes ps "Ventzel" could just be Ventz in PMB?

Hi Danie
On future polls is it not possible to have a pointer on the home page guiding members to the relevant place to vote. At present if you do not click on the correct place to post you would not even see the poll. Or have I missed something?
Ronnie
PS we must have young blood in the management as they are usually much more progressive and adventurous

Hi Spikes / Ronnie
I do agree on all comments that you have made.
And Ronnie, you haven't missed anything. In fact you have just illustrated why we do need a bigger Management structure - two or more brains are always better than one.........I am sure as a team we could do a much better job.
Regards
Danie

Hi All If we are going to continue as a free club ie: no membership fees, do we need a treasurer,or am I mistaken of his function. Maybe the treasurer organises treasure hunts. Ari
