Congratulations to all members of the new management structure. I am sure I speak for all the elected members in stating we will do everything we can to make this a successful club/forum for all Lada owners.

Hi everyone First of all I would like to thank all of you for your vote of confidence. It came as a total surprise and I am a little nervous about it all. Truth is I have no experience in this regard and I have no idea what to do and what is expected from me. Nevertheless I am honoured to be the humble servant of this wonderful club and this special group of people. I am also honoured to be part of a management team that I know has LOCSA's and the Niva's best interest in heart. Welcome on board Comrades! Also a BIG THANK YOU to Kobus and Danie for making all of this possible. That concludes my Oscar speech. Second of all - The only thing of importance here is the advancement of a secure future for the Lada Niva in Southern Africa. We kick started LOCSA back to life a couple of months ago and things are really going well. We are a very vibrant and active community and our membership is rapidly expanding. I would also like to propose that we keep things simple and informal. We are a group of friends that share the same interest and there is nothing more I would like to see than to keep it this way. Fourthly and finally I would like to propose that the Management Structure stays in place for a year before a new Management Structure is elected. That concludes the formalities Regards Marius

Thanks Maruis.
I agree with you to keep things simple and uncomplicated.
I am also nervous as I were never previous in this position and do not know what is expected from me. But I think together we will learn and we will succeed and take this forum to new heights and a stronger forum for all members. We came so far in this short time and we will grow even stronger because this vehicles is our babies and our passion.
I am really looking forward to this challenge and I am happy to be involved with the caliber of people representing this committee.
Regards.

Hi Everyone
I agree completely with what my 2 comrades have said.
These vehicles are our babies and to protect them and look after them we need to stick together.

(Darryn sticks his finger in the air, starts whistling and doing a dance) YEAH. HEER VEE GO COMRADSKIS!!!!!
No need to be nervous guys, Let's make sure everyone has fun and in a couple of years, when young guys like me give our kids a really, really tired old Lada, we can say: "it's not so bad, this car has loads of history kids! I had such good times in this little beast... but don't ever believe what the fuel gauge tells you..." To which they'll say: "Internal combustion is sooo 20th century dad, can't we have teleporters instead?" To which we will say:
"No."
I'm so relieved I don't have to work the money. So... Chairman Mao(rius), let's get crackin'.

Hi All
Marius, to my mind the Management structure should stay at least two years in place, before a new structure gets elected. I think a one year term is simply too short to get going, and to get things done properly. We also do need some peace of mind that we do have a stable and trustworthy structure in place .......and not just a couple of "flash in a pan" characters who are not capable of making any positive contribution.
I think all of us should air our views in this regard.
I also agree that we should try our best to keep things simple, and as informal as possible here - to my mind we have become a group of friends, rather than the normal Forums / clubs, which can be found everywhere. The last thing we want to see here, is a bunch of "bossy" characters who are trying to "boss" everyone around...........
Anyway, thats just my opinion.
Regards
Danie

I'm inclined to agree with Danie here. One year is not really enough.
I'm already on it.

Hi everyone
Whilst we are making a decision on what term the newly management should serve - we should at the same time come up with a Constitution for LOCSA in order to function properly.
I propose then that we should discuss on this forum what we would like to see in our Constitution. I would also suggest that we do this under a thread named "Constitution" and then perhaps vote on a final Constitution.
Regards Marius

Hi Marius
I agree - in theory a club without a constitution is not a club at all.

Hi Marius
I think the question of how long we should serve should be decided by the committee, and should be between 1 and 2 years. Anyone wishing to serve longer can stand for re-election.

Hi Comrade Ronnie ;D ;D Chairman Moa is watching you I second you that perhaps the decision on how long the Committee should serve should be decided by the Committee. However I would like to involve everyone with our Constitution and perhaps while the term served would also be part of the Constitution - we should give everyone a chance to be part of that decision? I also support your idea that the term served should be between 1 and 2 years and anyone wishing to serve longer can stand for re-election. Personally I feel that a 1 year term is fine in the sense that we can reflect on what we achieved each year and it would be easier to actually manage the Management in terms of performance. I'm sure no one would like to be stuck with a Chairperson that sucks ;D If the final desision is to serve for longer it is fine by me. Regards Marius

Hi Marius, I would recommend that LOCSA loosely aligns its constitution with that of the Association of All Wheel Drive Clubs. Suggest we leave the service period to the Committee to decide Regards Spikes

Hi all
With regard to the minimum and maximum term served by a Committee Member the Committee came to the decision that a minimum period of 2 years should be served by an elected Committee Member in a particular portfolio and that the maximum term served should not exceed 4 years in that portfolio.

Hi Spikes
4 years does not matter when you are in your 20`s but when you are 66, 4 years make`s you 70 and that is not so good ;D
Ronnie
PS I am sure you know what I mean ;D
