Swap the wheels of Toadie and Rusti around, so you have 16" kangs on Toadie

Hi Vincent
It came as quite a surprise to me that the 15" tyres for the Sidekick has become a problem. I would try and get another pair of 16" rims for the Ronster's Monster .

It may also be the vast differences in the price of LOCSA Nankangs and TWT's 15" All terrains. One tyre alone cost more than the entire set of Nankangs

Yep Spikes. As a Niva driver who clocks up mileage, tyres are a major expense. I won't change anything on Rusti now that smuller has bought the Rusti. Smuller - The 'kangs are going to be sweet when you eventually need to replace the 215's. I like the look of the 15" wheels, but will set at acquiring a set of 16" rims for the 'Kangs. This would allow Toadie to have "kerk en werk wiele" ;D Regards Vincent

Hi Fanus
Unfortunately I have not heard anything from our supplier with regard to you inquiry. They are normally very quick to respond so I don't know the reason for this slow response. I will follow it up early next week.

Sorry but you would not get me to put remolds on any car.

I will nor put them on my road car. Anything above 120km/h on a remould is not safe.

Hi guys
The remoulds are not suitable for the 16" rims - only available in 15". I agree with Ronnie on the issue of using remoulds though.

Marius my Niva only gets driven at 100km/h and not 140km/h so I am still in the safe zone. Here by us 40% of the farmers are using Pitbull tyres as he can now buy 4 tyres for the price of one.

Charles you should actually argue with Ronnie - I only agree with him ;D However I made an inquiry about the Pittbulls and it is definitely not an option for the 16" rims. I actually consider them too big for the 15" rims on the Niva - unless you do a lot of cutting and lifting. You also risk damaging your steering box which is not a good idea. The thread pattern is designed for mud - mud tyres are designed for mud and nothing else. They will be terrible in thick sand as they are designed to dig in. You guys will have to get used to digging back in JBay! ;D Other than that they look great! Marius

Marius my tyres are 195/70R15 and is a AT tread. They should work well in sand. So Ari will be the one digging.

Hi Marius
Surprising enough the BF Goodrich MT which I had on the Landy at one time were surprisingly good in deep sand providing the pressure was dropped.

I have been looking at the 245/70/R16-Bronco's. I have 4 Lada rims that is 40mm wider and I hope to fit some of them on there. I would have loved to have a 5th rim like that as a spare. I see the Pitbull's only come in R15.

Hi Marius Surprising enough the BF Goodrich MT which I had on the Landy at one time were surprisingly good in deep sand providing the pressure was dropped. Ronnie The Landy is so heavy that you almost always need to drop the air pressure in mud and sand no matter what tyres you have. I never had the pleasure of owning BFG's but I believe they are fantastic tyres with a very long life - which is definitely not the case with most wannabees. Marius

Hi Marius,
Yes the price is remarkable. Thanks for your trouble.
In the end I will go for the Niva steel rims and tyres. I hate hassles while I relax in nature.

Hi all
I have not heard anything from our supplier but from what I can gather we can expect a price increase on the Nankangs fairly early in the new year. I will keep you guys up to date.

Hi all
There are currently 27 Nankangs available. That would leave us with 6 or so complete sets of 4-5 tyres. Due to ever increasing transport costs the price will increase to R880 VAT included.

Good Evening Guys. I need to replace the tyres on CERATOTH. 1....down to the wear bars on the front and 2.... the 'square' rather than 'round' profile is causing vibrations, so 3.....are the Nankangs available in 195/80 15 ? Regards to all at LOCSA. keith and CERATOTH
