Thanks Charles, what I am trying to get to the bottom of is the problem Koos posted to the BBM group earlier, where his Engine Check light comes once the motor has warmed up, the EGR is obviously not part of that equation now, so now I am stumped for the moment.

Dear All Good morning Charles/Ronnie/Spikes & Everyone Thank you so much. Big relief to know that the part is not needed. I always expect the worse. Been very busy yesterday, got back very late from Robertson- could not even visit the Klipdrift Plant for a free sundowner. Will work on the car again tonight. Trust it will be finished b4 the Flower Season starts in Namakwaland. Hope to visit Garies Regards Stephen

Dear All Please assist
I've once read about a product similar to Red Devil Gasket Maker which can be used on Exhaust Gaskets, but cannot find the tread.

Hi Stephen
Firegum is the product. Try to get the one made by Wurth. I prefer it over the Holts one.

take note of the alternator bearing numbers, the number on the original front bearing is 62032RS , the autozone equivilent is ELP 63022RS (42 x 15 x 13), the autozone 62032RS od is too small (40),rear bearing is ELP 62012RS (32 x 12 x 10)

Spikes if you need the bearings you can just ask for a 6302 and a 6201. The number is not specific to any make. I prefer using FAG bearings in alternators and pumps.

BUMMER!! Sorry to hear...cant think of anything but rather take it out and approach your local midas to see waht they have to make fit otherwise its trusty ol ladaworld or a local dealer...but then be prepared to leave one of your children as compensation therefore! ;D Hope you get something and please post if you find a suitable make fit candidate for the TC!

Okay thanks, the tc mounting broke on our way home from holiday, 18km from home. The rubber mounting or the alloy housing that holds the rubber mounting. Ari

oldschool, thanks will let everybody know if i find a suitable replacement locally. @ari, it is the alloy housing that has broken, but would like to replace both to make sure that everything is fine for the future.

Dear All Good day
The GB was replace, Aligned - Thanks Charles. There's still a noise - after I lift my foot of the Accelarator and it gets louder as the car slows and stops just short of a standstill; There's also a slight smell - something like rubber burning. Will check after work if the Rubber flexible coupling between the GB & TC is not touching.
The part at the end of the Accelarator Cable which connects with the small ball on the Solex Carb is misplaced, vanished into thin air, cannot find it. I do not have a clue how it looks or what it's called. Cannot find any reference to it on Ladapower. Please, can somebody post a pic of where I can source a spare part.
Will try the local cable guys during lunch.
Any Comments is most welcome.
Kind regards Stephen
