hi i just replaced my thrust bearing/clutch about 2 months ago, cause i too was getting a whineing sound in netrual... so for ppl are saying change the bearings in the gearbox, i would have to agree with them ... the only downfall is that i have to strip all over again once i have located the bearing(all ) for gearbox, the replace and refit box.... i did this by myself....i tell you not an easy job ace out...get some drinking buddies and some time to mess around in garage, it will be easy and quick... Good luck and let me know if you can locate the bearings and what price...if possible the code so that i can get it done Shaune ;D

Speed sensor connection. If you are lucky the connector and wires into the harness may still be somewhere below the car. You should be able to get the connector (female) for the gearbox from Pavel

Hi
I had a whining sound on my gearbox. Ended up having all bearings and some shafts replaced. Goes like a dream now. Worth the money I would say.
Only whining I have now is in 4th above 80 and in 5th between 100 and 105. But I take it it is normal.
Regards
Michael

Hi guys, need some help. Went to play at Killarney today and need to leave too early cos the clutch pedal went all the way to the floor. When left for a while the pedal would return to normal, what could this be. My thinking is a new master cylinder, if so is the uno master cylinder a direct fit. Clutch is fine now. It just happens when playing around and using it constintly. Please help me out.

Reading the post it seems it fails when being worked a lot. but is fine when being used sparingly. maybe there is a blockage in the supply line from the tank to the master cylinder, and its not letting the cylinder charge with oil between uses. the oil can return to the tank but not return to the M/C when you need it. could be a floater in the tank blocking the hole

Darren, begin with draining the system and put some new oil in it. My first guess would also be the master. Don't know if the Uno fits

It sounds like the master. There is 3 different uno ones. You can strip yours and take the seals and match them. a seal kit will be about R18 instead of the R180 for a new cylinder.

Hi Darren7 & and all who responded
I have moved all clutch and clutch Master/Slave cylinder posts into the Existing "Clutch Problem" one.

Hi,
If you cant find seals, try IC Seals in Umbilo, they will custom make seals for you as long as you take them the old cylinder/a sample.
Thanks

Thanks You can also try James Walker Seals at 296 Gale Street, (not far from I C Seals) for custom made seals. James Walker is an international company, and the guys at the Gale Street branch are highly professional. Danie

Hi Danie
Any chance that they could make up front wheel bearing seals? The freight is more than what a seal costs.
I am sure that there will be a number of owners who would place a firm order if it could be done

Hi Spikes
Believe me, those guys seem to be able to fabricate any kind of seal on demand.
Some seals are obviously cheaper than other seals - depending on the time and labor spent in fabricating the seals.
I do not know whether their price on replica Lada seals will be more affordable though - as mentioned, it all depends on labor cost to fabricate the seals.
