Hi Jaco
I have no idea what CV boot I am using but the inside diameter is 2,2cm which is slightly larger than the shaft's diameter but the plastic tie down I used on that side seems to do the trick as I have been driving like that for many years. The clamp you are using should be more than fine.

Marius, the CV19K is ~22mm ID on the shaft and ~85mm on the CV housing. I'm not finding the CV22K I still have but I remember it being like 5-6mm wider on the ID of the shaft (smaller side).

Hi Jaco
I used the CV22K a long time ago, so I can`t remember what the fit was like. It has held the grease in with no problem. I would use whatever boot you are happy with.
Ronnie.

Does anyone have a outer cv in their possession? Broken or not. I just need some measurements and photos. Busy sourcing a local replacement.

dimitris, way off topic: 8 years or so ago there was a niva mailing list in wich every one could ask and answer. The list was maintainded by some aussi guy untill he shut it down. I was mailing then with some one from greece, who's name i can't remember. In will search for it in old files. maybe you know him.

T'nx Ronnie. The CV22K's "housing ID" is a perfect fit and overall it is a bigger boot (read: possibly more room for flexing). I'm very tempted to order stock Lada boots, but I'll see how the current ones go. All in the name of science and love of the Lada. ;D

The Mazda 626 cv boots also fit. Have no idea what the number is. Ex Autozone Spikes, do you know which 626? I phoned Midas today and the guy asked me which year model and the sorts. I told him to give the first one and he answered: CV40K and CV41K (inner/outer). I then abruptly had a "Homer Simpson moment"...D'OH! ;D

Pavel and Neill sell them for about R500 to R600 each and the postage will be about R500 on top of that. Delivery between 5days and 2 weeks with courier and EMS respectively.
"Neil Chowney Lada" <NeilATlada.co.uk>, "Lada Power" <ladapower.comATgmail.com> (Pavel),
@ replaced with AT due to spamming

Dear All Good day. I once read somewhere that the CV Joint Nuts can be replaced with Local Nuts and all that needs to be done is to have about 5mm of the nut machined/tapered to have it punched. I cannot find the info about which Nuts to use - lost the link/info If any of you know about this, please assist.
Kind regards Stephen

Marius Thank you so much. I not been on the LOCSA site for a while. Will take same time to catch-up on all the new discussions. I've found a nut from a Tata CV joint which worked. The Techie had a spare. I'll try Fawkes Brothers for another Replacement later. Rehards Steve

Charles Good morning The guy @ the CV workshop told me that it was a Tata Indica CV nut and that they are all the same. I'm now looking for an old one to see if it matches the outer CV on our Lada. Kind regards Steve

Charles Good morning Pieter, the guy in Paarl with the "heavy moded" Lada, told me that he used a Mazda Inner CV - can't remember which model; but He somehow cut a part of and re-weld that with the original Lada part. He's a Fitter & Turner and has all the means available to do"pro" jobs. I was about to go that route, but now would rather get the Originals.
