Hi Bobby Sorry about the bad news.
I guess on those diffs it would not be possible to strip the inner components by a private owner for a personal proper check.
It would be interesting to know what the inner parts look like after a couple of 1000 kms. Might remain a mystery though.
Hope your Lada will be back on the road soon.
Regards
Danie

It would seem the output bearing out the rear of the T/C is now rooted, there is plenty of movement there, easy 1 or 2 mm, so this would most likely be the noise when I button off. I put new bearings in here 2 months before I put the LSD in. The clutch chatter has gone

Hi Bobby Ronnie showed me a very interesting Transfer Box output shaft mod (by Ahma) on the Lada UK website - when he visited me: www.lada.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9740I just wondered if the LSD puts any additional stress on the Transfer Box, and if so, whether Ahma's mod would help - I really like the idea of an extra bearing at the rear of the output shaft, to eliminate excessive shaft play. Regards Danie

This is a known problem area but I thought the bearing would last longer. Danie I read that article a while back but could no longer find it, Thanks

Oil change and additive added again, all good but the T/C bearing has some play already!
