Danie has been saying for a while now that he is going to leave locsa, and today the day has come. He is keeping his Niva just leaving the club. Time for different things.

Hi Danie I don't know what brought about this sudden decision but I do know how passionate you are about LOCSA so I find it hard to understand. It is very sad. Your contribution in making LOCSA what it today has been phenomenal and this forum will not be the same without you. I will miss not only your input but also your incredible passion, enthusiasm and last, but certainly not least, your ‘brutal’ honesty. ;D Thank you for all the incredible assistance and advice you have given to me over the past few years. I’ll keep in touch. Take care of yourself. NIKKI

Hi All I have obviously made a mistake by resigning as member without giving a proper explanation - so here it comes: Since my involvement at this Forum I always tried to motivate all Lada owners to share their Lada experience and knowledge with everyone at the Forum. That includes all owners who are interested in improving their Ladas by means of modifications. Right or wrong - at date of my resignation I finally came to the conclusion that there seem to be a substantial resistance against certain modifications - and resistance, to my mind , could prevent other members to be willing to share their Lada success stories at this Forum. I have seen too many previous Lada owners disappearing from the old (crashed) Locsa forum , for this very reason - their contributions have been bashed by individuals who pretended to "know it all", or an individual who has misused the Locsa forum for personal financial gain. Being a modification freak myself, I therefore simply lost all interest in this Forum, and decided rather to focus on International Forums who are more "user friendly" to modification "freaks" - like myself. Anyway, I would like to pass some comments at two or three Threads which I found to be very interesting / concerning. So hopefully my "stay" at this forum will not irritate the "purists" for too long . Regards Danie

Danie there is a lot of us very intrested in your mods! Ari and myself both would love a stock Niva as a second Niva. Our Nivas will never be stock. If people doesn't like it then tough shit. That take the fun out of the game. Our Nivas are toys and WILL be modified. I hope you will stay on the forum. We miss your ideas.

Hi Danie A Very Warm welcome back to LOCSA and I sincerely hope that this time it will be for good. Your sudden resignation was quite a shocker for me and a very sad day for LOCSA indeed and I am sure I speak for the rest of this amazing family. I must say your reasons for resigning at first as Moderator and then as a member of LOCSA is still mind boggling to me and I find it even somewhat disturbing. I am sorry to put this out in the open but I feel I have to respond to your comments in your first post as a new member. I think I am correct in saying that your sudden resignation followed shortly after your post “Re: Timing Chain adjustments” and I must say no- one “resisted” the modification that you discovered. I think it would be fair to say that we (those who took part in the discussion) warned you against the “mod” for safety reasons as we regarded the “mod” as dangerous. LOCSA also promotes freedom of speech and everyone has a right to air his or her opinion – it is up to the individual to either use it or lose it. Fortunately for the new LOCSA forum I have not come across anybody who pretended “to know it all”. There are however individuals with vast technical skills and experience (including you) and we are all extremely greatfull for these individuals who are more than willing to share their knowledge with the rest of us. I also do not know of any member that is currently misusing the LOCSA forum for personal financial gain, but if you do know of such a person or persons you are most welcome to contact Management in this regard. I do know that you are not referring to me but just to put the record straight – so far the tyre import has cost me R88 in basic paper work and a couple of hundred bucks in petrol money and telephone calls. But if there are members out there making money out of LOCSA then I am definitely considering a small ”handling fee” in future imports LOCSA also promotes freedom of expression – you and anybody else are most welcome to “mod” your Ladas in any way you like and to freely discuss and share these ideas on the forum. In fact I distinctly get the feeling – as a “Purist” that I am by far outnumbered by the “mod freaks” therefore as far as I am concerned LOCSA is exactly the right forum for a guy like you. I can see no reason why you should not stay on as a member but in the true spirit of LOCSA – that choice is entirely up to you. Hopefully your next post will be "Time to say Hello" Regards Marius
