Hi Marius
Those Nankang tyres look fantastic! Thank you for the incredible effort you made on behalf of LOCSA members in importing them into the SA. They are a fantastic bargain and I can’t understand why you weren’t inundated with orders from owners with the 16” rims.

Thanks Nikki I think it is because many owners switched to 15" and I also think it was a matter of "wait and see"? Thanks for the kind words Marius

Hi Nikki / Marius
I can only speak for my self in that Rusti still has too much tread on her current 215's. I will replace them with Nankangs when the time comes.

Hi Nikki / Marius I can only speak for my self in that Rusti still has too much tread on her current 215's. I will replace them with Nankangs when the time comes. Well that is another very valid reason why the interest was not overwhelmingly great - not everybody's tyres were at the same level of wear and tear. For those who like fat rubber on there Ladas a 205/80R16 is available for around R900. I am still looking into getting tyres for the Sidekick's 15" rim - the only Nankang that is an exact fit is the CW-25 commercial tyre for around R800. I will post samples of Nankang tyres that might be suitable for the Sidekick in the near future. Charles it is always nice to see a couple of Ladas together - hopefully with our next Lada Meet we will be able to get a good couple more Marius

Marius I mush say I am very jelous of how the Nankangs look. I love the skinny tyres on the Niva.

Hi Marius
I am sure your R800 for the Sidekick tyre will be a lot less than the normal price for the Khumo or anything else.

Charles there are 18 more tyres on there way which are not spoken for yet. Ronnie the prices they give me are apparently cost price (50% discount from normal retail) - so yes I would like to think so - but if anyone can get these tyres cheaper or anywhere near the price that I can get they must please let me know. I just wish I can get a tyre for my 15" rims that will fit under my bonnet.
Will first have to finish my tyres before I get new ones. That will be a couple of years.

Hi Charles
If you look closely you will find even the skinny 16" is a very tight fit.

Hi Ronnie
I saw that. Thought maybe I can bend the bar so it will fit but no luck. My 16" is almost the same size as my 15" wheels. Have a spare 15" tyre (Thanks Ari) so when I get a rim for it I will just have to build a spare wheel carrier. or mount it on my roof rack but that has a negative effect offroad.

Charles you are still a young man so expect your thread not to last that long ;D
Spikes the road to the farm is now less bumpy!
Another thing that is very apparent is the very efficient way the FT-7's dissipates water away from the car - much better than what I was used to.

Hi Charles
I don`t like the roof rack for wheels as it is easy to get them down, but to put them up there is another story.

Hi all
I took the Nankangs on the open road (100km trip). They predicted heavy thunderstorms but nothing happened so I can't report anything on that front but with the correct tyre pressure the ride is still nice and firm.
All the little vibrations I picked from my previously badly warn tyres are a thing of the past - esp cornering hard right. I am normally not heavy on the brakes but the tyres felt real good under braking.
