Mike (Hotstuff) came up with a brilliant idea - a new thread where owners can offer any Lada Niva spares for sale / to swop.
Thanks Mike - and anyone who wants to place an ad, please feel free to press the "reply" button, and go ahead under this topic...........

Mike I also need new headlight wiper blades (already have the arms) so if you are gonna order from russia , maybe we as a forum should decide what we all need from russia and put in 1 bulk order. On www.ladaparts.ru/ it costs a flat rate of about $40,97 for up to 1 kg and then more per extra mass (this is for airmail) Ari

You could also try Valerij Nekrasov at Graf Korvet.
Valerij is very reliable, and always prepared to walk the extra mile for his customers.

Ari, his e.mail adres can be found under the topic"Sparepart Suppliers".
Valerij will send you everything you need. Just send him full details of your Lada - as indicated on the plate in the engine bay. You should also send him the part numbers, which can be found on the ladaparts.ru website.
It usually takes about a day or two before he will reply on your e.mail , but he will not let you down.

Might be difficult to find used ones, still in good condition.........I bought many spares from a previous owner in Richards Bay, but had to throw many worn spareparts away............including badly worn balljoints.

Those left hand drive vehicles are good for SA . When they want to hi-jack you they can't figure out why you are sitting on the wrong side of the car, espially if threr is no passenger

Talking about highjacking..........well, I think a Lada is definately the "safest" vehicle in South Africa - as far as highjacks are concerned.
I have never heard of a highjacked Lada before..........

While Mike looks for Ball Joints - I just wondered if anyone ever tried to find a match ?..........it might be worthwhile to take a sample to one of these sparepart shops which sells almost anything..........the other day I saw quite a number of different ball joints at a local sparepart shop.
If an exact match cannot be found, perhaps a close match could be modified to fit........

Mike, I am not sure if the solenoids on the 1600 and 1700 models are the same, but Hercules did a modification on a solenoid, (for his 1700 I guess) bought from Midas.
See his post under "Aftermarket / Replacement Spareparts and Mods"

Mike, Danie, - according to the part no. the 1600 & 1700 use the same solenoid, but the starter motors differ.
The part no is as follow:
1600 solenoid :- 2101-3708805 1600 starter :- 2101-3708000 1700 solenoid :- 2101-3708805 1700 starter :- 2105-3708010
This part no. is of the parts cataloque of both models. I did modify my solenoid as discuss under "Aftermarket/ Replacement Spareparts and mods."

Mike, the solonoids should be available from the two agents, but if you want you can modify yours aswell, then it is locally availlable. The solonoid I used is from a 1800 mazda Ldv. Just make sure the solonoid fit on your starter, before you buy it and modify it.
