Great 4x4's but the Defenders are too heavy and can easily get stuck in thick sand if you're not careful Marius

Hi Charles and Marius
It depends as Marius says who is driving the Defender. I have driven 1000`s of kms in deep sand in the Landy, and I was always the one pulling others out. Like Bob with his mud, I simply drove into the same sand and pulled them out. I have had Ari`s Niva in the same sand and it would have gone on for ever.

As much as I love bashing Landys I also love them to bits. Fantastic vehicles. I just love the underdog (like our Nivas) more.

Oi! I'm one of the wider-tires-on-stock-rims-without-inners people...oh-my! I have 4 stoc rims with Russian rubber in and out of them (inners and tires - but perished). They are a bit bent (from the previous owner) but I hope to get them hammered straight and get some tires from Marius in the (I hope) near future. Happy Lada times, Jaco

Hi Danie
I am considering getting myself a set of Bronco's from Safari tyres.

Hi Charles
I was on the brink of buying a set of Wranglers, and shopped around for prices. One of the dealers told me that Wranglers don't give high mileage (about 30 000kms max.)
So I decided to take n chance with the Pittbulls / Bulldogs / Broncos - or whatever it is called lately. According to some reports 30 000 kms might be reached as well.
Hopefully I have not made a mistake now.
Hi Ruan
If possible, I will appreciate a close pic of your Cressida power steering box - with details about the welding that needs to be done to make it work on a Lada.
Danie.
