Hi Danie It took me a while to muster up the courage to take the grinder to my Lada. Ari
Same problem here - I also decided to cut the arches in advance, but each time I look at the grinder I find it hard to go ahead.. Danie

Hi Danie
The little blighters creep into your heart and that makes it hard to do something like that. Before you cut get the tyres you want then cut with the tyres in place. And draw where you aim to cut first and imagine that section as removed till you are happy imagining the cut, then only take grinder to the Lada. Because once its cut, its cut, unless you have an excellent welder and are brilliant at welding.

Hi Ari
I hope they are not like the BF mud terrain as they were death traps in the rain. The only thing that was worse was a nissan 1400 I had a few years ago, got rid of it quick after trying new tyres on it and it was still the same.

I found them at a piping place, they are rubber seals ID 80mm OD 130mm which fitted perfectly. They are 2-3mm thick so I bought R100 worth and had 26, 13 for each side.

Ari I think mine has sagged a bit. I have stuff that will make a 22mm spacer. Will see when I have my new tyres.

The Lada looks very good Ari.
Are you going to trim the rear wheel arches as well ?
Danie

Post by Ari Bezuidenhout on Nov 23, 2010 19:00:15 GMT 2
No Danie The rear arches are made up of an inner arch and an outer arch and if you cut them in any way you will need to find a way to weld them back together and that is too much work. I am however going to use the HAMMER ;D on them to bend any sharp edges away from the tyres. Ari

Hi Ari Maybe a hammer will not be needed if you just add a couple of rubber spacers at the rear coils Danie

Hi Ari What pump did you get? Are you going to mount it permanently. If you want to but not under the bonnet like Hercules consider something like this. Charles
