Hi fellow droolers ;D This pic shows a way to not increase the angle of the front CVs, the bracket lowers the front crossmember and the engine and front diff and the gearbox and transfer box obviously need lowering too and realigning. This picture shows how to enlarge the wheel arches and still keep the proportions the same, the top ones show the front wheel arch and the bottom shows the rear.

Here is a moving pic I found online that shows when the CVs are working too angled. Ari

Hi
I know this is a bit off topic, but would you lift the front of your Lada with a stack of washers? Im tempted...

Hi Charles
No, although at the moment I'm using M12 nuts to get an idea of what is practical and to get measurements for wedges. The spring plate needs more area to rest on than some washers once the suspension starts to take loading and flexes.

Hi,
It's all about for people who have plenty of free time, money and nerves and with hobby - car art. The first picture shows the new Lada Niva Chevy from the back. Actually it's not very new because it is known by more than a decade and still unpopular.

Hi Ari
Nice pics - could be very helpful as well.
I will definitely fit pitbulls as well, and my intention is to cut the wheel arches , and lift the Lada if the wheels still touch.
My only concern about a lift is the angle at the front CV joints - does it not cause problems ?
Maybe Bobby could inform us ?
Regards
Danie

Hi Ari
Are you going to lift 50mm or more?

Hi Danie That is where this picture comes in. If you lower the front crossmember the front diff lowers and then your CV angle remains the same. The height change is taken by the front propshaft which should be able to take some more angle. Ari

Hi Charles
It depends, so far it seems that I may be able to get away without cutting the archs except right at the front and back edges.

How did I know it would be you Charles, yeah those hub cap stickers are worth it, definately.
Fatal?? I would not lie under my Lada like that, I was just trying to get the height and wishbones right. While I was raising the Lada I put in new front suspension bushes on the wishbones.

Hi Ari
The Lada really looks great !
Did you do the trimming yourself, and could you feel any difference in steering the beast ?

Steering feels lighter than the Conti's but I haven't had my wheel alignment set yet, so it may be that. Could also be that the tread footprint is smaller than the Conti's??

Did you do the trimming yourself Danie Hi Danie Yes did it myself with a pencil, ruler, protractor and an angle grinder. It took me a while to muster up the courage to take the grinder to my Lada. Ari
