Hi Mike
Those Goodyear Wranglers with white painted detail realy looks good on the black rims.
What is the tyre size ? It looks wider than the standard tyre size.

OK SO BACK BRAKE DRUMS gone in for sorting, what a job just trying to get them off....coated the entire under carage and parts with ns4 black primer re furbished seals and installed digital temp meter for more accurate control. now to tackle the scary window winding mechanism on driver side. then refurbishing bull bar and tail bar and bumpers. then i tackle the inside. when money allows i will pursue the final painting of the lada to army green. shu so much to do and so little time...... will post pics tomorrow.

THE REAR SHOCKS ARE SAFARI 4X4 I THINK. the springs are some other mod aswell not sure what make. this car stood for a few months on a farm some where so lots of refurbishment required. but for R8000.00 IT WAS WORTH IT. Just struggling with fuel system at mo it has a weber conversion and is a bit of a pain....well all brakes now sorted. this window winding mechanism is also a pain but will get the best of it.

I still have to do a lot on my Lada as well - initially decided just to get rid of some rust spots, then decided rather to give the car a complete "facelift".
Will post some pics in future.

well lets see been struggling with carb today ready to throw in the towl with this horid thing a 38mm DGAS that is a pain in the !@$#% any way i have now removed it and stripped it completely and have realized the previous owner did nothing to look after this car, well now i'm sorting all these headaches out and hopefully wont have to deal with them again for a "LITTLE" while. also found that the one rear brake seal is leaking. oh well we carry on the grand adventure of rebuilding the little beast to it's glory once more....

Excellent work Mike !
What is the purpose of the blue insert in the top radiator hose ? A thermostat modification ?
By the way - although your radiator looks slightly different from mine at the top, the radiator on my Lada also has less cooling plates between the water channels - like yours.
According to a local Silverton Radiator specialist, these radiators improves engine cooling in very hot areas, during slow driving conditions. Less cooling plates obviously improves air flow.

Danie

HI DANIE the blue insert is a sensor unit for a digital water temp reader very accurate. the radiator you are right and works like a dream absolutely no over heating probs but i'm going to fit additional electric fan in front which has a water proof casing. I will be fitting my three digital gages soon, had them in a vw caddy that i used to drag race they cost around R480,00 each BUT ARE EXCELLENT DIALS. also hope to fit a fuel/air flow meter soon for interest sake...................any one got the original head light wiper arms and blades looking for a pair or otherwise will have to order from Russia
