Fit a smaller tyre. . . .
OR extend the bumpstops a bit. . . .
OR lift it.

Very nice pics!
That articulation and approach angle will put most other 4x4's to shame

Conrad. I gave my lada to my 16 year brother to drive he has no experence driving. He did some mean 4x4 driving in our mud dam. We have a quad bike and it cant do what the lada does.

Have fitted new shocks to the rear and have no more wheel rubbing problems. Also lost some wheel travel and 4x4 ability. It lifts the weel rather quickly.

Then the travel on the shock is wrong. This means that the shock is acting as the bumpstop, which will damage the shock.

Ari. Yes they do (in a way) but they keep the wheel that lifts from dropping down to far. They do not bottom out at all but do not extend that far down as the safari gas shocks i had.

I went up the magalies and it was super bad road. I wil never do it again. Only took 3 pics and did not enjoy it. The niva cant handle loose rocks and low range is way to fast. In the end i made it up but it kills a lada. Attachments:

I never had a problem with loose rock, bt yes low range could be a bit lower.

Ari. It crawls nicely on the loose rock but if it is steep and there is a axle twister it stops in its tracks. G wagen my has just idels out there like its nothing with its super low range center.rear and front diff lock on. I need a rear diff lock and a slower low range. Realy want to keep up with the G wagens they make me feel like i am driving a toy car. Or maybe just make peace with the fact that its only made for mud, snow, sand and bad roads.

Hi Jan,
I've got 2x 4.44:1 diffs on the way, they just cleared customs in SA 2 days ago.
@ roons: What were your tyre pressures cause in loose rock etc its important.

I was in over my head thats all. the main problem was big rocks and not enough ground clearance with the gradient and little experience in a 4x4 that cost me only 17k. Maybe i must not feel bad if a R500000 4x4 drives the crap out of mine. Kuifie wont it be cheaper to buy the reduced gear ratio kit for the tc? And u have a torsen diff that must take things to a new level?
