Sorry spikes my Quote did not work the way i planned. White is a very eazy paint to work with for a beginner and it may be cooler in the summer. I wanted to go desert sand at a stage though. Regards Ruan

3 degrees cooler at least. Lots of elbow grease in your spray prep and it shows!

Conrad. I hope to go to the gauteng 4x4 day at the end of july. Stil have to put the drive train back. Replace a few gearbox bits fix and repaint my blue diff black. I also have to make bumpers and a bull bar. Dont have a rear bumper thanks to a golf driving into the lada.

Hi Roons,
This information below should give you an indication of the cost to import the multipoint injection for the Niva (I think the amounts exclude transport, but not sure):
Throttle valve housing assy 21230-1148010-00 ~ or 21230-1148010-01 ~1 each 120 US $ 21214-1144010-00 ~ or 21214-1144010-01 rail assy Fuel 1 set 207 US $ 21230-1008014-00 Intake manifold (includes studs) 1 set 132 US $ 21230-1008027-00 ~ or 21230-1008027-01 Receiver unit 1 each 75 US $
You will notice that I did not order the whole setup, but just the things that will make it easy for the installer, because a lot of the other stuff may be sourced locally (like the throttle body and connections to the air filter etc.)
If you use an experienced installer you can of course have the multi-point fuel injection manifold manufactured locally, and just use the Niva fuel rail for reference and ease etc. I opted to order from Pavel to save time because my installer could not accommodate me then. In fact, I must still arrange a new date to bring the Niva to him due to a few "developments" in the meantime!
I mentioned in an earlier post that the only modification to the standard head to accommodate the OEM multi-point fuel injection manifold is that the inlet ports (not the valves) are of a bigger diameter. Clearly if the designers opted for this your head should also be ported somewhat to flow more/better (more power always requires more fuel and air in the correct measures). I also opted for stainless steel valves to play safe (bigger fire more heat and the Niva valves in my opinion are marginal - remember the Niva motor started I think as a 1300cc or thereabouts?).
I hope the above is of some help.
Regards,
Fanus

Thank you fanus. Am I correct it saying you are using a 1600 head? Id do the manifold might be a straight swop with a 1700.

Thanks for the info Fanus. I am going to take my spare head and play with it when my niva is done. Please let me know what bigger valves can be fitted. I am going to get a tig welder and make my own intake and rail. but all of that wil have to wait for next year. Thanks again!

The window was proped up by a broom stick when i got my lada. One of the pullys was cut off by the cable and the winding unit was stripped and not complete. It was a crap job to say the least. Now i have a 20mm hole in my door.
