Hi Ronnie
Previously in this thread you were explaining about the electric windows. I would like to look into this for a future project. Can you just explain how the limits work on these motors. How do they know when window at top or bottom?
Thanks
Hein

Hi Heinmohr The motors are available from Autostylin in Jhb and Durban. They are about R600 per set of 2. I have used a no of sets over the years and have found them excellent.. Please remember they drive the windows via the existing winding mechanism, so it must be in good condition. To answer your question the motors do not sense top or bottom limits they simply stall at each end. This is not a problem as the motors are designed to withstand this. The longest I had a vehicle with them was the Landy and when I sold it they had been working for 13 years. They are still working as the Landy now resides 3 doors away. The kit is quite comprehensive and has all wiring and switches Regards Ronnie

Hi Mike
Unfortunately I have to inform you that a special thread for anyone who provide a service to our local Lada community (for financial gain) will not be allowed here at the forum.
Having said that - as member of our club / forum, you are free to air your views, or give advice - like any other member.
Some members of this community already own their Ladas for many years, and they have a vast technical knowledge of their cars. Part of this Club's mission is to encourage these members to share their knowledge with other owners.
One of the reasons why the old (crashed) Forum was a failure, was because owners often came forward with good advice - but their comments have often been bashed, or overruled ,by somebody who provided a service to owners for personal financial gain.
The result was that many previous Locsa members rather stopped sharing their experience - and walked away from Locsa.
Under no circumstances will the mistakes of the past be repeated at this forum.
This explanation might sound very harsh, but I hope everyone will understand.
Regards
Danie

Hi Danie
I think your reply to Mike`s request is very valid and reasonable. Any member is more than welcome to post questions and reply for the benefit of all of us and our Ladas. If each post is kept where possible to the relevant heading we can all refer at any time to the past history of the subject. I very often refer back to the oil thread when I can`t remember which oil to use.

Hi Mike Yes I also think that Danie makes a very good point here - esp since I was a member of the original LOCSA - knowing very well what happened there This is not a personal thing - and I think I speak for everyone in saying that your advice and input is highly valued on this forum and I believe that you have a huge role to play in LOCSA - esp in the beautiful Cape Regards Marius

Hi Charles,
What is your contact details?
I assume you are knowledgeable about vehicle wiring and electronics and which auto electrical replacement parts may work on a Lada Niva, correct?
Your feedback will be much appreciated as I need some technical advise.

Hi Fanus What info do you need? Have you downloaded the relevant manuals from locsa.byethost32.com/technical.html on the LOCSA Web site? You can also search the posts for relevant information Regards Vincent

Hi Vincent,
Thank you for your reply.
I already downloaded the manuals and studied them. You will not know how much I appreciate it for having these manuals!
The reason I want to know if a Lada owner is knowledgeable about Lada electronics/electrics is that I substantialy modified and are modifying my Lada 1600 and require somebody that is knowledgeable about electronics/electrics and what is available locally, so that I may farm some work out to him/her/them (keep the money in the family and get what I am looking for). One of the obvious advantages is that such a person/business do not have to be in my part of the woods and can still supply me/manufacture/put together things, test it on his vehicle for fit and post it to me (it cost a packet to drive or to be away from work). Such a person/company must be knowledgeable about what the newest technology is, available in South Africa and what the real quality goods are and which is generally available locally ( I think you will agree that it is a no-no to modify and can not repair/genarally find the replacement parts - ek is 'n aap, maar 'n ou aap).
I realy appreciate the technical posts on this forum but as everybody in business know, it is sometimes good to have a human on the other side to communicate with and especialy one that can relate to what you are passionate about/require.
Regards,
Fanus
