Hi SJ
Easiest is to e-mail Pavel direct for a quote on the parts that are not in the online lists
I am sure members who have rebuilt their NIVA gearboxes will be able to ID the part numbers for you

Thanks Charles
I thought the list of parts I must get was incorrect. What is a detent pin-retainer? Is it not a split pin?

I think they are talking about this. Number 4. That is the plate that holds the detent pins in.

Is the breather on the gearbox easily accessible, without taken the gearbox out. As it seems that my gearboxes breather is blocked, because i changed the output seal but it is still leaking oil.

No its not. Was there any marks or groves on the flange? How much oil in the box?

Hey Charles. The oil level in the box was right. I will just have to look how much is still left. But the level was up to the fill hole.

My white Niva has a huge gearbox issue at present....Let the clutch out and I get a loud rattle...All gears except 4th. I am assuming it is an inner shaft bearing problem??? I have 2 spare gearboxes....unfortunately both are 3000 kilometres away from me I am going up to where they are for Christmas, so the plan is to fly one back with me...And pay the excess luggage charge! I am reasonably convinced that it is not a clutch issue and is likely to be an inner shaft bearing.....(?)

I would agree as 4th would bypass all the inner shafts,

Hi all
If one of my gearbox bearings has packed up then the others must also be on their way out? Why i am asking this is the box is out and in 101 pieces so surely it will be safer to replace all the bearings now instead of having to repeat this exercise in 40000 or 50000 km time.

For all who contemplates ordering OE bearings to repair their NIVA gearbox, T/C diffs or wheel bearings, here is the reference and quantities required. Compliments of Ari down in Adeliade locsa.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=photos&action=display&thread=829&page=11Some of his other spares that he ordered for his rebuild can be found on page 12 of the link that I posted above... On p 12 you will see the range of diff adjustment shims or rings he ordered in order to adjust the backlash and preload properly Spikes
