PS, my wife had one look at your pics and declared you are lucky to be living alone! I sometimes wish she could be more understanding!

Hey Ari... Can I just say WOW!
I think the repaint is a brilliant idea, I always thought the current color/sticker combination didn't suit such an awesome setup.
And I disagree with an earlier poster who said it would be 'like new'... it will be far better than a stock new one!
Can you post some more info (or point me to an earlier post) regarding your beefed-up rear axle/suspension setup? Why the new spring bases? For the lift? And the changeable rods?
Also, like the poster on the Australian forum, I am curious about the extra tank setup... maybe now that it's apart you can photograph the separate components and do a diagram showing how it connects to the stock Lada tank... this would be a HUGE benefit for me here, since once out in the highlands it can be many 100s of kilometers between petrol stations.
Really great work, and keep posting on the progress!
-Eric

Hi Ari and Eric I still have a picture of the south African made fuel tank. I can`t remember the name of the supplier but they are well known in SA and also make water tanks for off road vehicles. Ronnie

Its similar to the picture above but not quite the same. Personally i would prefer a steel one, but thats nitpicking.
At the moment the engine draws from the main tank, and the second tank has an electric pump to pump into the main tank via a toggle switch.

Hi Ari
This is a BIG job and I just want to wish you well on the adventure. Also would like to know how big a job it is to take out the steering box?

Guilty as charged. However I did not know second hand parts were used when it was repaired. Any other details are classified.

Nice work Ari. Your car is going to be an inspiration when its done. P.S you must wear shoes in the garage in case you drop something on your feet (don't ask me how I know)
