Hi Dimitris, It is actually not so much off topic because networking and sharing is one way how a crisis can be overcome or negated. Every cloud has a silver lining; just think how the guys that bought big new 4 x 4 must panic now! Just as was the case with the houses recently, nobody would buy the expensive 4 x 4's and the banks will not be able to sell the vehicles they repossessed. Every year after that the vehicles will become worth less and less! The Niva should maintain its value relatively; cheap to buy, cheap to run and cheap to maintain. Oh ja man, it also has character; something you can not lose or depreciate, ever!! Regards, Fanus

The last two years over a million car owners gave the number plates of their cars because they did not have to pay the tax. But I did not write for cars, houses etc. .... because here there are families which are unemployed and have not money to buy food !!!!!

i'll try to get back on topic ;D
Danie, Niva 1.9 PSA diesel engines can be found everywhere: in Peugeot 205, 405, Citroen BX, Xantia and so on. Problem is the kit that's needed to build it in to a Niva: fly wheel, bell housing, sump and so on. These kits where available in Russia some years ago, but where priced at 3000€! without the engine itself. Besides, i don't think that there are any Niva diesels in Russia. They where developed for the West European marked and where very expensive. In 1995 a petrol niva on lpg was 10 000€, a diesel 15000!
