Olla,
All the best for 2012 to all.
Was hoping if anybody new of an alternative vacuum advance that can be used on a Lada Niva 1.7i.
I was going to sell her, but I figured that I have done so much work on her already, I can just as well keep her and finish up.

Hi Grimmwolf,
The hairs on my arms always raise when I read the word "wolf", bu to hear that a guy with that name want to get rid of his Lada really make my the skin around my scalp cringe, my hands start to tremble, I get a poer-in-my-moer look in my eyes, my mouth fall open and I ask my self "why, why, why now"? But it is true, I know quite a few people that kicked the trusty wife out of the house for a young cheapie that work out quite expensive in the long run (especially when you realise after a while that she does not belong to you only). Normally a new Prado also belongs to the bank and you for sixty months, before you may then use it to trade it in on the new lanie cross-over or Prado replacement that now mysteriously cost a neat R100 000.00 more and can still only go where a 1995 1600 Niva with a trailer can go! Weird world, weird people, but oh so real.
Luckily enough you came to your senses, but you should surely make a turn at the shrink in any case; you may end up cutting off the roof of your Niva to catch the attention of the young little thing down the road there in Centurion. I am sorry to say, but there are no pills on the market that will help for that (so by the way, a strange variation of this condition is to fit Fiat or Toyota engines to Niva's, and believe me, as I said, there are still no pills on the market for this strange condition).
I would love to know what made the vacuum advance on your Niva goes koekoes. I did not even know you can buy it separately! (To tell you the truth the only thing I thought could happen to vacuum advances on cars is if you push something up the little tube to make your competition look like an arse-hole in front of the girls, but what do I know nowadays where modified Honda mass production engines can rev up to 16000 rpm)?
Just a little secret between us: (but please do not tell Danie) if I really do not know where help will come from with my Niva, I even go as low as to call Ventz or Mike, to find out what they suggest? I know it is tough with a Diesel Electric in your area, but man the two guys really bailed me out once or twice! But please, do not let Danie find out, because surely a brand new distributor from Pavel may just cost less than what Allan Black or Diesel Electric will ask to fix your distributor. You will not know if you do not ask the people in the know, and you will be a real grimm wolf if somebody in the area pulls an apiesdoring branch through your legs, that for sure!
Regards,
Fanus

;D Yea, always try the local guys first - but should their prices not suit your wallet, Pavel is the way to go. Just ask him for a price on components which are not listed at his website yet: www.ladapower.com/Danie
