Look at the price for a towbar!!
I got a quote for around R3500 the other day which I think is a little steep?

Hi Ronnie
Thanks for sending copies of the brochures - nice to have a "walk" through memory lane........I am sure there are not many of those brochures left in SA.

Hi Ronnie
I guess you saw both Ladas at Jan's place the other day ?
It will be a pity if those Ladas are not well looked after - surely somebody will be interested in restoring them ?
Regards
Danie

Thanks Ronnie, it is really nice to go back on the memory lane. Just think what could have happened if the Lada did stay here in SA. What our options could have be . . . . . . . . . . . . . . !!!
Regards.
Hercules.

Well, I hope the restoration will include more than just a good paint job. Beauty is usually only but skin deep.........

Hi Danie
You are quite correct. You see a shining Lada and it blinds you to what lies beneath. You only see the faults when the novelty wears off and you look beyond the shine.

Hi Hercules Yes it is a pity Lada did not stay. They lost plenty by pulling out. At the show where I bought Ari`s Lada, Vanchester also had a small cute car on display called I think an Oka which they were also thinking about bringing in. We liked it so much we gave them a firm order for one. Sadly they never imported them. Regards Ronnie

It must be a mirror image based on the location of the transfer case levers

Yes that is mirror image but apparently one of them is actually a RHD! Marius PS - too late Jan your reputation is shot

Hi Marius
I have looked at both of these 5 door Nivas and I seem to remember they were both LHD. I could be wrong. The pic is a mirror image, if you look at the gear lever it is angled to the right which is wrong for RHD.

What caught my eye when I reinserted the old brochure, was the huge footrest in the driver footwell Note that both 4 door NIVAs are located in Centurion. Perhaps Keith can give us an update when/if he goes past there again? Spikes
