hi guys
I am Ruan. Found this site looking for lada spare supliers. I have the 1991 convertable 1600 Lada Niva 4x4. Something very hard to explain to non-Lada-owners why I love my Lada so much but I do, it is a very special car to drive and the problems with maintaining it sort of ads to the whole experience.
Love it and don't think I will ever sell it.

Hi Ruan Welcome to the forum. It always make sense to try and support the local Suppliers - but should their prices not suit your pocket, you can always try Pavel (from the Ukraine) at this website : ladapower.com/index.phpHe sells all pars you might need - just send him an e.mail about parts which are not listed. If you do order parts from the Ukraine, I would advice you rather to order via EMS (Speed Mail) . To my experience EMS mail is highly effective, and a lot safer. At the moment I am getting a bit worried about a parcel which I have ordered more than a month ago via ordinary airmail, and the parcel has not arrived yet... I am also looking forward to see some pics of your Lada. Regards Danie

Hi Ruan
I have had great service from Ventz in PMB too.
While stripping my lada's gear box and replacing the bearings (bought from Pavel and took 3 weeks to arrive via EMS) I discovered that I needed additional items.
What a joy to be able to hop in the car and take a drive to Ventz where he was able to help me. 2 hours, a beer and enjoyable chat later all was good.
Regards Vincent

Hi Vincent,
What more to say - Ventz and the others is a critical part of an enjoyable experience of the Niva in SSA! Especially a guys like you who use your Nivas regularly.
The saying "A feather in the hand is better than a bird in the air" comes to mind when you need parts for your Niva (A part in South Africa is better as a part in Russia if your Niva is standing and you want to go on holiday or on a business trip). For sure.
It is all a matter of balance and consideration. I used both the local suppliers and the overseas ones. The same sun shines in South Africa that shines in Russia, but shade can only be found in the nearest place to you at the time. That is if there is a tree where you are. Viva Ventz! Viva Niva.
Regards,
Fanus
