Hi Charles Today I stumbled across a Nissan in-line 6 cylinder engine, with a Power Steering Pump fitted. I couldn't resist buying the power steering pump, because the scrap yard where I bought the pump only buys scrap metal , and I realized that I would get the pump for next to nothing. I just had to remove the pump myself - they dumped it on a scale, and charged me R35.00 for it - brackets + jockey wheel , almost new fan belt & all. When I was removing the pump, I thought "nou is ek weer lekker besig om gemors te koop" - but I have had a quick look at the pump afterwards - and it still seems to be fine. Die tenk was steeds vol olie, en wanneer mens die pulley effens draai wil die ding net pomp. These are some pics: Do you perhaps know which Nissans came with these Steering pumps ? Thanks. Danie

Hi Danie
It looks like a Skyline 2.8 pump. What dit the engine look like? Was the tappet cover big and oval at the top? Look for a number on the pump. If you can give me that I will be able to find out from what car it is.

Hi Charles
Unfortunately the tappet cover was nowhere to be seen.
I also thought that the engine could be coming from a Skyline . The engine is a carb model,
I've just checked the numbers at the pump:
On the housing cover, at the opposite end of the pulley, there are two numbers "2", and "3705"
On the housing , in line with the pulley, there is another number : "3623"
Many thanks.

The R30 had boxes and the R31 ( new era) had racks.
