Hi Vincent, I used a nissan 1 tonner motor for mine - my original died after I lengthened the rather crazy small wiper blades, perfect fit and an easy mod (wiring)

Hi Markh
Thanks for that. I think mine is also toast. The intermittend doent work. I got one from a Np200 lying at work. Will see if that works otherwise I will get a 1 tonner one. The 1 tonner one is nice and powerfull as the bakkies has 18 inch blades. What size blades did you fit?

Its a nickname that my grandfather gave me when i was still a baby. It sticked with my family and old friends so I decided to start using it more again.

I haven't checked , but maybe the wiper motor at the rear window is the similar to the one in front ?
If so, one can always remove the one at the rear if it does not get used often....

Danie the one at the rear will be different as it does not have the intermittend function build in.
By using a newer motor you can always bypass your intermittend function and just have two speeds on the motor. I will most likely do that. The fast speed on the niva motor is slower than the slow speed on the bakkie motor.
I would rather have a slow and very fast speed than a intermittend and a slow. Or you can have intermittend and fast.
I opened up my intermittend relay and cleaned the contacts and tested it on the bench and it worked perfectly. Have not had time yet to put it back in the cat to test it. If it is not functioning on intermittend it is the plates in the motor that has gone. Then I will see to fit the NP200 motor.
Will hopefully do all of that this week. I think fitting a stronger moter is newer a bad idea because they never fail on a sunny day..

P.s Please excuse all my rambling. Just want to try and get everything across as clear as possible.

just chescked now it is my wiper motor that's faulty so this weekend I will be fitting a NP200 motor. Wil post some pics. What would be better. High speed and intermittend or just low and high speed with no intermittend?
Calla
P.s Ronnie please move this to technical.

Hi Charles
I think I would go with High and low

I thought that would be best aswell. Hopefully it will be better than the motor in my conquest. It is so old and tired that even though it should have 2 speeds it actually only has one. Slowe and just as slow.

Hi Guys,
Can someone please tell me how to wire a 1 tonner wiper motor to the Niva?
The 1 tonner is 5 wire, Niva is 4 wire and I'm electrically challenged...
