Hi all,
I'm taking my back seat out of my Lada. Also the clips for the top corners, seat belts and whatever else that goes with it.
Seeing that it will only take up precious space in my flat I will give it away for free to anyone interested. You can either pick it up at Sun City or I might be able to twist my boss' arm to take it to Pretoria.
The seat might just need a little brush, but everything else is functional and in one piece.
Regards,
Jaco

Hi Vincent, So you basically want everything apart from the seat, if me understands yous correctly. I think it can be done. I'm of on Monday and I will get it stripped down. Perhaps before then, but don't hold your breath. I'll drop you a PM when I have done so and I'll get your mailing details and so. I'll give the seat to my home-cleaning technician and tell her to add some paint drums for a nice socializing, socialist sofa. ;D ...Unless someone else wants just the seat. Coolas, Jaco

Shot. Perhaps you might want to take the old seats for a last kiss and cuddle. Stephen may also want the seat too but he will have to confirm that. No rush for the stuff. In your own time.

Hi there Vincent and Stephen,
Sorry, I did not get around to take the back seat out today. The TLC session on my Lada almost went down as a miss-adventure. But showing some BMT I made a great comeback in the final minutes of daylight. ;D ;D ;D
Stephen, I got your PM with your address. Vincent, can you send yours as well.
Unless the Indians (from India) keep me "goodly-goodly-busy" tomorrow I will get to it. Even if I have to bring out the light-making-devices.
Take care,
Jayco ;D ;D ;D

Hi Vincent, Eddie, Stephen,
Just an update. I have only taken out the one seat belt. First work yesterday and then tonight the coldness just got real cold. But I'm onto it...
Ok, so Eddie needs the seat belt clips, but not the seat belts? Vincent, do still want the seat belts?
And then Stephen gets the back seat clips.
Eddie, can you PM your address? Or, my boss stays in Fairy Glen (Pta East) and I can get it to Pretoria for you to pick up. Just let me know.
Well, Happy Lada day to all...despite the cold... ;D
Regards,
Jaco
P.S. Me thinks I should build my Lada's heater into my flat. ;D

Righty then...
Back seat stripped down and all is ready to go. I just need confirmation of who needs what or to whom what is going. ;D
In any case, hopefully the lovely folks from Bombay do not keep me too busy so I can send everything out. Otherwise, at latest, it will happen on Monday.
Take care,
Jaco

Hi Jaco
Hope you are warmer now. I can also arrange to have the items collected in PTA as I still have to collect the gear lever covers from Ari at some time.
If that is not inconvenient. Have you managed to find a taker for your seat?

Hi Vincent,
I'm warmer now, but it looks like the temp will drop to a max of 13C tomorrow. ;D ;D ;D
I have someone going to Pretoria later this week, so I can send it all together for a pick-up.
I have sent the backseat catches to Stephen today. I dropped him a PM.
I have not heard from Eddie yet (sent PM) so I think I will get it to Pretoria and then play it by ear.
Regards,
Jaco

JacoGood morning. Thank you so much. Read the PM. Will watch the post. @ All Just some update with our Lad Had some bad experience yesterday morning. Been to the farms the night before - everything worked OK when I got home. Yesterday morning when I was about to leave home - a grinding noise halted me. Checked, but could not find anything wrong - of to work. Checked again during lunch. Took car to machanic, who also could not pinpoint the noise. Asked me to leave the car when them. Decided to have another look. Found that the nut holding the CV-joint bracket is missing. Took the car home and replace with a new M12 S/S bolt, washer, splitwasher, washer, nut and nylon locknut. Could go about on our Pentecostal Mission again last night. I'm more than grateful that I could complete another Outreach successfully. Regards Stephen

Hi Stephen
I presume you are referring to the bracket which holds the front diff to the engine.
If that nut was missing and you have heard a noise, you also have to make sure that the bolt and nut on the opposite side of the engine, (which also holds the diff in place) have not wiggled itself slightly loose as well.
The bolt and nut I am referring to are located on top of the diff:
- The bolt is located at the rear (on top), and links the diff to a bracket, bolted to the engine.
- The nut is located more to the front (also on top) of the diff, and links the diff to the engine (rubber) mounting bracket.
Regards
Danie

Took the car home and replace with a new M12 S/S bolt, washer, splitwasher, washer, nut and nylon locknut. Regards Stephen Hi Stephen If possible replace the SS bolt washer etc with a 12.9 hi tensile grade bolt in normal steel. The reason for this is that 316 L stainless steel suffers from catastrophic fatigue. That means that it does not stretch or show that it is going to break - It just breaks! This would not be true of 304 grade stainless steel bolts. When fastening stainless steel bolts and nots always use a 304 nut with 316 bolt. 316 on 316 causes a problem with fsatening torques as the threads "pick up" on each other. Glad to hear that your Lada delivers you safely to your destination.
