Hi Guys
I think Ronnie once mentioned that you can use a VW ignition module for the Lada, but on all the diagrams that I have seen of the Lada module it has 6 pins and the VW module has 7 pins. Does anybody know which pin on the VW is then redundant? Is there a diagram available that will show how to connect the VW module.
NB: My Lada is still old school with points so I will have to make harness from scratch.
Thanks

Hein buy a VW tci harness. Its about R120. If my Niva was running I would have fitted my Vw loom and module and see if it works.

Where did you get a module that cheap? I bought one from a rolled jetta for R120.
Did you get that convertable golf?

Tricor in PE. You will get to know them. Cheapest VW spares in PE. I told the guy that I'm going to fit it to a Lada and he gave me some extra discount.
The guy want more for the golf now since he heard of one that sold for R130000 in Plett. I did find a whole box of VW carb spares in my dad's garage if you still looking.

Can you send me the number for Tricor. Yes I'm still looking. How much does he want for it? Are you willing to sell your vw carb?

Hi Guys
Ever since I overalled the points on my distributer i have had a slight misfire when driving. I have tried to eliminate all possibilities internally such as compression test and valve timing. I even adjusted the valve clearance but still no luck. It seams to be OK for one trip after i remove the distributor cap and then starts acting up again. I'm not to bothered with the coil as I will be installing a new coil and distributor in about a week.
The one thing that I have not changed is the Spark plug leads. I did some research on how to test them and it seems that when you test the ohm across the wire it should read about 6000ohm. I only get close to this on the lead for cyl 4.
Could anybody check this with a multimeter so that I can compare the readings?
Thanks
Hein
