Hi Vincent Some time ago we have had a little debate at the Forum regarding oil filter size, and which filters would be "better" - the small type filters, or the bigger versions. I alway use the biggest oil filters available on all my vehicles, because I believe the bigger filters will take longer to "get blocked" - in comparison with the smaller versions, and it will not cause a drop in oil pressure at all. Another reason why I do prefer the bigger filters - it can be used for a longer period in comparison with the smaller versions - which needs to be changed more regularly. According to some members the bigger filters will cause a drop in oil pressure - so I think it should be very interesting to hear from you in this regard. Danie P.S. Maybe I have posted this comments under the wrong Thread .

A lot of local oil filters can fit at the engine, but they have different pressure check valve inside. I also prefer the bigger one, it takes more oil which means better lubrication, filtration, cooling.
In my cars I use Z96, oil filter for 2Lit Alfa Romeo and FIAT. If somebody likes to use the factory size - use Z87.

I will pop down to the GUD factory and do some investigation on the best possible filter for our Gems.
i am however a BIG fan of additional filtration to Permanently remove the dirt.
