Does it need any work Andy? I can imagine that engine being a thing of beauty once washed and rebuilt.

This one has only done 90000kms but hasnt been run for years,so I wont be rebuilding it plus parts are unbelieveably expensive. No definate date as to when it will go in, too many variables at the moment, job,new offspring on the way,rain,etc. A friend has got a 2.0 efi 150hp one set aside for me($1500) but due to the above variables I grabbed this one for $150. I promised I would take this route oncw I got the brakes and bearings sussed out.

Update. Gasket set got, new rings to go in, crank and block being hot dipped, pistons and rods dipped,new water pump, new big end bearings, I will use the original main bearings, head has been hot dipped,valves cut and lapped,valve clearances set. New cam belt,leads. Flange cut off new Niva sump, flange but off Fiat sump, Niva sump tacked to Fiat flange

Its gunna look good after all this hot dipping I also read somewhere that its not wise to grind the crank on these engines

Sump mod done, the gray bit is a Niva sump with the flange cut off and shortened, the silver bit is standard Fiat. TIGing will be done next week Attachments:

Its gunna look good after all this hot dipping I also read somewhere that its not wise to grind the crank on these engines I think only the two litre ones Trev, the heat treatment is very thin and mind bogglingly expensive to get redone
