I searched all seven pages of technical threads and none of them can take this subject (we do have two that deal with lifts). I was looking at baxter's site this afternoon (while I should have been working), and I looked at his article on increased articulation again. He mentioned that he took the anti-roll bar off the front axle as well as the rubber bumpstops. Although I'm not comfortable with taking the bumpstops out, I'm toying with the idea of taking the anti-roll bar off. here's the URL to see what he was getting at www.ladaniva.co.uk/baxter/cloggy/niva3.htmlHow will this affect the ride/handling of my Niva in everyday conditions? I could just take the anti-roll off when I go offroad, but that's a bit of a ball ache. This component was designed and placed in the suspension for a reason. But if that reason is to enhance "cornering ability", then I'm keen to try it out (I don't drive my Niva fast). If it will make the Niva unsafe to drive on public roads, then I'd like to know. Darryn.

Ari has been driving without his for a while. Unless you corner at speed it shouldn't make a big difference. Our workshop bakkie has been running without one for a while now. No handeling problems.
I wouldn't remove the bumpstops completely, but cutting a piece of them might not be such a bad idea.

Hi Darryn
I have removed mine but have only driven 50km since then. Theoretically you should have more articulation without it but more body roll when cornering at 60km/h or more.

More body roll makes giving it a bit of "suiker" on corners a bit more exciting!

Depends on what you want to do. If you use the Niva for everyday - leave it on. If you want to play with it most of the time you can remove it.
For safety reasons I would leave it on - seeing that you are quoting politacal figures - "Finish en Klaar!"

Ha ha ha!! It won't be too much of a hassle to remove and replace when I go offroading.
Finish en Klaar.
