That's a new owner not a new Lada. Hi guys, I'm over here from the UK and planning on becoming a swallow over the next couple of years. Very into Off-roading trials in the UK and wanted to get a good 4x4 to use in sunny SA. Not having huge amounts to spend here I was told that there was a thriving Lada community in SA and here you are. I've just had mine collected for roadworthy and the guy from the garage has asked where parts can be obtained from. I would really appreciate any phone #'s or emails of anybody who either has or knows someone who has access to Lada spares. I'm looking forward to meeting you all at a meet as soon as possible. I won't be here all the time, but hopefully will be here in the summer when it's horrible in the UK. Thanks for any help you can provide. All the best Julianb

Hi Julian
If I were you I would make full use of the fantastic opertunity you have to stock up on Lada parts while in the UK. Believe it or not spare parts are way cheaper over there - esp in the eastern countries of the EU.
The good thing though is that you won't get stuck over here - we have suppliers in SA.
Regards Marius

I haven't a clue what's available in the UK yet. When I go back in March I shall certainly be looking out for what I can find. Unfortunately, I'm a bit of a traitor over in the UK, M 4x4 there is a v8 Auto Defender 90. Great fun but unbelievably heavy on petrol. 12 mpg on average. I'm converting it to run on LPG, which will help a bit. I might be tempted to see whether I can find a decent Lada over there as well, you never know.

Hi Ronnie
Well I red a article on the Oz forum where top gear tested a Niva again, so they might be going to the Uk. That means they will be RHD. I know I am holding thumbs!

Hi Charles
There are NO new imports to the UK. The factory will only produce RHD if they get an order for a minimum of 500 Niva`s . This has always been the case. The person involved in the UK only has inquiries for 6 at present.

Sorry I should read your posts to Charles before answering him as I have given him the same answers as both of you.

No worries Ronnie I always thought it was a 1000 units to get a RHD order off the ground? Anyways it is quite amazing that they are going to the UK once again Regards Marius

Im sure world wide one will be able to get at least 500 guys together who would buy a new RHD niva.
The guys in the UK are still very lucky. I love the new Niva. The small changes makes a huge difference.
