Hi Everyone
I bought my 2000 Lada Niva 1.7i in 2006 when I needed a 4 x 4 I could handle and afford to carry out a birding survey in a local nature reserve. I was considering a Suzuki, and actually planning a trip up to Joeys to look at one, when I saw my Lada and was immediately hooked! As my hubby is hopeless with cars, and we live in a small town, this probably wasn’t the wisest move but I’ve survived so far with the assistance of some incredibly helpful Lada owners, including Danie. Thanks again Danie and congratulations to you and all the other forum members contributing to the success of the LOCSA site which is going from strength to strength. I doubt that I will be able to contribute much by way of answers but you can all look forward to lots of questions! ;D
As a member of the old LOCSA forum I was aware of the new site but I’ve also come across it a few times while Googling various Lada related queries.
Best regards

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
The lovely Nikita (my Lada) is minus her starter motor at the moment but when she’s up and running, and when I fathom out how to do it, I’ll post some pics. I know there are some detailed instructions somewhere.
Best regards

Welcome to the forum. Its nice to have more female members. We will help where we can. What is wrong with the starter motor? Did you remove it yourself?

Thanks Charles.
The starter jammed a while ago and no, I didn’t remove it myself - my mechanical expertise, like most females, is non-existent! ;D
I don’t want to get wrapped over the knuckles for breaking the Forum rules so I won’t elaborate on the problem under this thread but I will put something together for the Technical section as I do have a few queries / concerns.
Best regards
