OK so I took the Lada out for it's first adventure this morning, in the pouring rain and 45km/hr winds.
What a mess it was out there but oh so damn fun.
First took the kids on a light test run up in the farm lands on some guys farm. Came across spring-buck and loads of birds etc. light muddy conditions and 2 foot deep puddles.
Then returned home for some tweaking and took the wife on her first 4x4 tripp....well we went out on a another long farm road and decided to go off road. well that was fun. Small hills and rocks etc deep water about 2-5 feet inn places kids screaming in the back with joy as i hit water puddles, splashing all over the Lada....this carried on for about 2 hours... on the way home we drove past a 4x4& quad bike track...well the Lada was itching to stretch it's legs.
After hitting the long stage 1-3 track we moved on t0 4-5. well 4 was very easy and so would of been 5 ..............as i turned in a nd reversed to line up for a stage five 45deg slope the front right dropped into a sink hole. even prior to testing around the ground i missed that damn hole......it was like quick sand, we where in it tight up until the top of the front wheel with the rear right up in the air and rear left tucked in tight...............now the good part i had realized i had left the shovel on the garage floor as i was cleaning up.......so hands and knees to the ground i dug to try and get to the bottom of the front Tyre to open her up. Well that took about 2 hours as the rain did not help the matter.........finally after building a small damn wall by hand i must say and a cut up oil can i finally got to dry clay and with a bit of help from my wife bouncing on the driver side door we got free.......well oh my hat that was fun, i was covered in mud from head to toe and some and my wife was soaking wet we had a good laugh at the end...........the no:1 rule never leave home without it" the shovel". i did not get a chance to take a pic as i was tired and soaking wet but will pop by tomorrow and take a pic of where the thing happened.
will post picks as soon as they finish uploading
