I think some local Toyota fans who are impressed about some "North Pole Expedition" mods (reported at a recent local 4 X 4 magazine) might be embarrassed to discover that Lada Nivas have been the first vehicles which were driven to the North Pole:

Best of all it was two standard Niva marsh's. You can buy them like that in Russia. Just proves ones again a Niva is the best 4x4, ever! Nivas held the record for highest asend by vehicle. A standard niva. Vw had to modify a modern 4x4 to beat the record, and they only broke it with 100ft.
Nivas rule, full stop.
