Hi all Ventz's reply to Koos about the old and new type steering wheels has got me puzzled. My 2000 1.7i has the very same type of steering wheel. Any pics floating around with the new type steering wheel?. Regards Spikes PS to Koos when I bought my Lada in April it had 68800 km on. The wear on the brake pedal was exactly in the same spot but just a spot of metal showing s

Hi Spikes You will probably find that your Niva has no parcel shelve on the driver's side and you also have the small triangle windows instead of just one large window in the front. These were pre 99 Nivas registered as 2000 models by CMH when sold. Here is the "new" steering wheel... Regards Marius

Hi Marius and Spikes
I also seem to remember Ari`s Lada had a hinged cover behind the rear seat and side pieces at the back with provision for rear speakers. The quarter light windows in the front doors were very handy even with the air con.

I will be applying for disability pension. Finally I have proof that I am losing my mind. When I looked at the steering wheel in the Lada this morning, it is actually the same as the new one in Marius's pic. Last night I would have sworn blind and started a fight believing my wheel is of the old type. Pity about the side lights though. Perhaps they will appear tonight...... regards all Spikes
