Injection Lada with such a mileage and price is a very good deal. I never sell Ladas under R30. But all depends of many factors.
Only one thing seems suspicious. If the car is model 2000, why it has old steering wheel which was till 1997? After 1998 a new shape steering wheel came. But perhaps the owner changed it later.

Hi Ventz Some of the models that CMH brought in had the old steering wheel - the one's I saw had no parcel shelf and the little side windows at the front - this one is different though Regards Marius

You can come and visit mine any time you want Ari.
I saw something sad. A lada that was bought by a very excited owner a month ago is up for sale.

Hi Mike
This one is also interesting - having some of the "Intermediate" trimmings. It should also have a scoop cover on the grill over the bonnet (which caused overheating) and probably removed. It should also have scoops over the air vents at the back - those are actualy quite usefull in keeping the wind noise down.

Hi Ari,
I personally fetch and inspected all Ladas at the Durban port which CMH imported. I used to work for them these years.
The first delivery (~ 100 units) was with triangle vent window and no parcel shelf because these cars were produced 1997-1998 and later arrested somewhere in Lithuania on the way to South Africa due to debts of the previous importer Vanchester Investments. They stay there almost 2 years at the port and when they came their conditions were really bad.
But they already had the new shape steering wheel. Anyway, the old steering wheel is better - a little bit thiner but more solid - not easy to peel rubber pieces from the wheel which sometimes occur with the latest one.
Among them was no injection car, definitely and I presume this Lada is really 2000 model and the steering wheel was replaced later.
Rgds

Hi Mike
The wheels are also Sidekick/Intermediate - maybe taken from another car? What model is this one?

Hi Ari
Be careful what you adopt as it will be like Danie`s and you will need to either fix it or push it. I wonder who`s will be finished first. I am sure I heard Danie mention Christmas ?

Hey Guys
Didn't want to start new thread, so I'm just continuing with this one.
I hope you guys can set my mind at ease.
The Lada when started from gold makes this weird, gargling sounds. It almost sounds like fluid being pumped with some bubbles in it, but only when cold and I think (could be my imagination) that you can especially hear it when turning. But like I said only when the engine is cold.
Any ideas what it could be and if I should be worried?
Thanks Koos

Hi Koos
Could be an air lock in the cooling pipes in the engine, other than that no idea.

Hi Koos
put a piece of pipe to your ear and use the other end to see if you can tell where the noise is originating from. With yous being injected I would have though it more likely to be the return to tank fuel line, but this is a pure guess.

Hi Koos Try Ronnie's suggestion. As far as I know the return fuel pipe's pressure is far lower than the feed pipe, but if the noise is near the fuel tank it could well be the return line. My money is on the air lock in the cooling system Spikes

The sound comes from the engine bay so I don't think its the fuel line.
I assume draining the coolant will remove the air lock, I have to replace the coolant in any case, just water in there at the moment I think.
Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Hi Koos
I am shooting in the dark here as I am not familiar with the TBI system but I think Ronnie could be onto something - you most probably have some sort of air lock in the fuel system.
If the air lock is in the cooling system you could well be suffering from overheating issues. The cooling system needs around 10 liters of liquid.
Hope you get this sorted soon.
Regards Marius
