Hi Spikes
If the discs are that cheap we should fit very hard pads so the discs wear out long before the pads. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hi Spikes
Thanks for the info.
I will visit the local branch of Autozone - if discs are indeed available at that price I will buy / order a set immediately.

Hi Spikes
I've just been at the local branch of Autozone - maybe this news will add more confusion, but I think we are on track in sourcing a local Disc supplier :
Firstly - Part no DR 9293 is incorrect - this part number does not exist. The Part number is DR 6293, and it indeed sells for R199.11. And Autozone Pinetown does carry stock of these components.
There is a problem though - these Discs (Part No DR 6293) only have 4 studs. I have had a look at Autozone's Part Catalog myself, and it indicates "Lada Niva .......1980 on...... ". So I guess the discs on the early Lada Niva models only had 4 studs.
Now for some good news :
Autozone does carry Lada front wheel 5 stud discs - the part number is DR 6303 , and these disc are listed as "Lada Samara front wheel disc" at their catalog - it sells at R475.00 (Excl. VAT) each.
The guy Autozone confirmed that Chris Swales often buy these "Lada Samara 5 stud Discs" from them.
My intention is to take one of my old discs to Autozone later this morning, and to compare it with the "Samara - Part No DR 6303" disc..........
Regards
Danie

Thank you Danie. I have never seen a 4 stud niva. I am holding thumbs that the samara disks are correct.

Hi All The "Lada Samara" Discs - Part Number DR 6303, is indeed the correct component. I've just been at the Autozone branch in Pinetown, and I compared an old Lada 5 stud Disc with a "Samara" disc - it is an exact match. I took this pic at Autozone, who carries stock of these discs (manufactured by the Alfa Company) : Although the old disc looks bigger than the new one at the pic, it is indeed an exact match. Regards Danie P.S. The guy at Autozone told me that I am not allowed to take photographs - but unfortunately I did not hear him ;D.

Danie that is fantastic!
Why may you not take photos in autozone. Its not like they have some top secret military parts.
