Hello,
I'm Jooste Vermeulen. I found Locsa via Baxter's site. I've been driving my 1600 Niva 1988 model for the last four years and I am very in love with my girl. I had to scale down from a Land Rover and it was the best thing I could do. Thanx to all of you. This forum helped me tremendously in answering many questions. My Niva, I eventually discovered, was abused quite a bit. I use her for day to day driving and must say she never left me stranded even though she is about 40% fixed. I'm slowly bringing her back to her former pride and hopefully I'll also, some day, get 10km/liter...
To add to the parts from other cars that fit on Niva's This week I bought a clutch release fork for R54.00. It is a Isuzu Bakkie fork and is exactly the same. It appears that it is engineered a bit stronger.

Hi Jooste
Welcome on board - glad that you managed to find us.
Thanks for the info regarding the Isuzu clutch release fork. While your Lada has been fixed to a great extend, I am sure you might have more interesting info to share with us.
There seem to be quite a number of 1600 models still up and running, so any helpful info would be appreciated.
Regards
Danie

Hi Jooste A warm welcome to the forum. Thanks very much for the info on the Isuzu fork - I broke mine some years ago but managed to fix it and it is still working - but if I ever need a new one I now know where to look I did PM you with regard to new 16" tyres - unless you have 15"rims. Hope to hear a lot more from you. Kind regards Marius
