Hi Conrad I have bought the compressor at Cash Converters, Pinetown. A similar compressor is still available at Cash Crusaders Pinetown - at the same business complex, but the price is R799.00. It looks well used, and comes without the case and coil air hose. I was actually thinking of offering them a lower price for this unit, but fortunately found the unit at Cash Converters. Danie

Hi I bought the exact same "Monster 4x4 compressor 4 years ago from Autozone. The price was R899.00. It inflates a 10" tyre on my Moonbuggy trailer from flat to 2.1 in less than a minute. A flat repaired tyre on my Ranger Supercab too 2min 30 seconds(timed) On a trip to KNP in 2009 I tried to inflate 19" tyre on a Discovery. After 7 minutes the fuse holder melted. You could not touch the crocodile clamps. The overload switch cut-out never kicked in. Autozone replaced the unit a week later. The new unit has only been used for light work. Hopefully the first one I had was a dud and the rest are OK. The screw in inflater connections makes it easy for one person to use. Spikes

Hi Danie
When you start using the compressor let us know how it performs.

Thanks for the info Spikes. Hopefully Autozone will be able to supply spare parts for the compressor whenever needed. Did you use a jack to lift the Discovery's wheel from the ground before you started inflating the tyre ? Ronnie, for the time being the compressor will just be used for light work, like inflating our grandchildren's inflatable mattresses, balls, and swimming equipment. Hopefully their granddad will impress them if their equipment gets inflated real quick. Danie

Danie a tip to inflate stuff like that quickly is to use the air from your spare wheel. Those compressors deliver small amounts of air. That is to enable them to inflate to high pressures. They deliver a relatively small volume. Using air from a spare wheel is much faster.

Hi Danie My comp box is marked "Auto-Pro" but the "manual" inside the box is pure "Monster 4X4" When the fuse holder melted, Autozone snet the unit back to their suppliers. Suppliers reported"beyond repair" and replaced. I do not think you will get spares form them The Disco wheel was lying flat on the ground after the owners had plugged a hole. They had already blown the fuse on the Disco with their own cigarette lighter driver compressor. I eventually took the tyre to Lower Sabie where we inflated it with fuel station pump. The beading seal had not broken but the Disco owners took the valve out before the plugged the hole.

Neat torch that recently came on our market. Beats the Maglite line but a bit expensive. As I already have 4 Minimags plus a 2 cell LED maglite for the cars, my hints did not work so far www.klaruslight.co.zaSpikes

I can not justify spending that money on a electric candle.
Charles
A couple of million candles that is.

Hi Spikes
I bought a LED LENSER many many years ago very similar to what you have shown. paid R300 for it. This was very expensive in those days. It was worth every cent. Very small very powerful and the batteries last for ever. I still use it.
