Hi Bobby Those bike carbs should give the Lada engine a nice roar when you "put foot" . More details about the mod will be very interesting ( what bike carbs, what intake manifolds did you use, jet sizes, general performance, etc.) Regards Danie

Well I am back from a 2200km test run and all went ok. These carbs are quad 34mm CV keihins from a 1987 Honda cbx 750. I made the manifold etc etc etc, I used an AFR gauge to assist with the jetting which proved to be a godsend, I started this project because I wanted more low end torque, adjustability and the ability to stay cruising at 100kph in fifth gear without having to constantly change to forth when the speed slows a bit, plus CV carbs are far superior to any carbs on the planet and I mean any. I have got all these things and I use less fuel too. I have a few more piolet jet changes to do but jets are tricky to get because these are ancient carbs in motor bike world. My last week of driveing was in temps about 25 degrees c and tommorrow I am of up to the snow so Ill give a cold climate update in a bit. B

Hi Bobby
I have installed a Suzuki 750 carb on my 1100 Kawasaki. The jets were obviously too small, but I have drilled it bigger step by step on a Lathe, until I finally reached the correct size.
If the jets on your carbs need to be bigger you could perhaps do the same........
Regards
Danie

I have a friend with a wrecking yard so I have access to all sorts of bits, the CVS I plan to use are of a locally made car with IRS, each end has a flange with holes and one end has the "slideing" feature

Hi Bobby Holding thumbs - I think it would be one the best mods to do on a Niva. Pitty we don't have Holdens anymore Regards Marius

Golf CVS. I cant upload the golf cv pics as they are too big, Baxter has some pics on his website which are golf cvs beings used to replace the doughnut and uni, Lada world sells driveshafts with CVs on but 500 AUD each and really it is straight forward to do ( they are the CVs used at the doughnut area on newer Nivas)
