I am in possession of contact details of a Lada owner (non member of this forum) who informed me that one of the Agents admitted that he did a high speed test on the owners Lada - at 140 km/h on a highway. According to the owner, the Agent did this alleged high speed test to proof that the Lada is still in good condition.
According to this owner, the Lada suddenly started giving complete new problems almost immediately after the car has been collected from the Agent.
I am also in possession of contact details of another owner (non member) who mentioned that his Lada suddenly started giving complete new problems just after the car has been collected from the same Agent. I must stress though - this owner did not mention anything about high speed tests on his Lada.
Now, it is obvious that the new problems on both cases do not have any link with the work, or tests which have been carried out by the Agent - however I must admit that I am very concerned about any high speed test on a Lada Niva.
In order to carry out a high speed test like this on a lada, the car has to be in perfect condition ! In fact, if all components on a Lada have not been inspected, and found in 100 % condition, I would regard a high speed test as completely irresponsible !
The purpose of this thread is to set up a database about these alleged high speed tests , and to make this information availably to anyone who might be interested.
Anyone who might have any information in this regard, could PM me the following:
1. Name and full contact details.
2. Confirmation that a high speed test (according to the Agent) has been carried out on your Lada.
3. Confirmation that complete new problems have occurred since the car has been collected from the Agent, or
4. Confirmation that a high speed test has been carried out by the Agent, and that no problems have been experienced afterwards.
5. Nature of new problems (if any) after an alleged high speed test.
This Thread will not be opened for discussion, but the data could be used by members who might make use of the Consumers Protection Act in future.
Regards
Danie
