Hi Guys,
I would like to know which shocks you guys recommend? I would rather save a bit and install some kick A$$ shocks. I have read on the net that the ES9000 combined with Hoodoo lift kit is awesome! What do you guys think about this?

Hi
I currently have the ES9000 shocks in and they are good compared to the old gabriel shocks which I got my lada with, but then I think the gabriels were almost buggered.
Ari
PS They cost about R1000 each

Hi Juran
I fitted Safari shocks when I replaced the originals years ago and they are still ok. Very sorry that I chucked the originals - they can be rebuild and are quite good in off-road conditions.
Apparently Gabriel took a bit of a knock in quality over the last couple of years.
If you want to fit gas shocks you should seriously consider strenghtening the all the front fittings on the Niva.
Regards Marius

Did you import the HOODOO kit? How do I go about doing that?
Danie
Would you make another? Or give some info?
Thanks

Hi Juran At the moment I simply do not have time to make up any kits - I still have to do a lot of work on my own Lada, and Ronnie already gave me a final warning about the slow progress on my Lada. Regards Danie

Ari are you making your own version of the Hoodoo kit? Please post pics and specs. What tyres are you going to fit. Luckly I know you arn't one for "fat takkies".
I also have my own design for a spare wheel carrier, but no lada to build it on. I'm curious to see what yours look like. Do you do your own welding?

Hi Charles
No not the hoodoo. I'm going for the kremlin gremlin type. Tyres will be those pitbull M/T tyres from Uitenhage, and yes I do my own welding.

Hi Danie
They are remoulds of other tyres. The new rubber starts at the one bead and covers the sidewall and then the tread surface and then the other sidewall to the other bead. The factory that makes them is in Uitenhage. The tread is the same as the old BFG M/T and the Bridgstone dueler M/T. They cost about R650 each and have a max speed limit of 100km/h.
