Hi all
Thanks for the many welcomes. I have attached pics of Boris the Russian and the FJ. Perhaps someone could id the rims fitted to Boris and tell me if I am headed for trouble. I had a steering box bearing issue awhile ago where the thrust bearing failed. Have to say that wasn't the easiest thing to get at.

Hi Karl
As far as I know steering box failures are mainly caused by a lack of proper lubrication. When bigger wheels are fitted, owners should obviously take extra care, and make very sure that the steering box has been filled with oil to the correct level.
I have packed my Lada's steering box with a good quality CV joint grease, instead of using oil.
Oh - that's a very nice bike you have there ! My bikes are not as nice as yours, but still good and fast enough to put a smile on my face every day.
I use the Beemer for commuting to work - a round trip of 48km per day.
The Kawa is my "long distance runner" - during weekends and December holidays I usually swing a leg over the saddle for longer trips........
I will post a pic of the Kawa elsewhere.
Regards
Danie
