Hi Danie
I looked at these wheel winches a long time ago for the Landy but decided they were too much bother. I would rather save my money until I could afford a good electric winch. They also are cheaper now than they were a good number of years ago.
Regards
Ronnie

Hi
I am thinking of making a mechanical winch which runs off the engine of the lada. I will post the info and pics now now.
Ari
PS you will need to find one with the right PCD to fit the Lada wheel.

Hi Ari
I agree, the electric winches are fairly cheap and will cause less hassles.
I am actually considering building wheel winches myself - we have welding facilities at work, lots of scrap steel lying around..........and a couple of professional welders who could assist if needed.

Hi
It seems like their were two types, one run off the crank and the other off the PTO.
Ari
Ps Danie can you maybe change the thread name to "winch types " or similar.

Hi Ari
This is one point where land Rover got it right. They all have a plate at the rear of the gear box where you can attach a Overdrive, Underdrive or PTO, very handy ;D.
